2A Real “Space Oddity”

The private American aerospace company The Gateway foundation recently revealed their updated designs for what they have christened the Von Braun Space Station. This spaceport was inspired by technology previously used to build the famous ISS or International Space Station. Unlike its predecessor the ISS, this vessel will be equipped with artificial gravity, enabling both long-term habitations by staff and visiting by travelers much more comfortable.

The actual structure will be made up of a pair of “concentric structural rings” joined together by spokes. The inner ring will consist of 24 large modules. The Gateway will be used for both space exploration and the meeting and interaction of both humans and extraterrestrials.
