While naysayers are concerned about the future of travel, Americans are once more thinking about vacations. 1. Orlando

One fave focuses on the Seward Highway in Alaska. It evokes familiar feeling like one might have taking the iconic route along the California Coastline. It just feels like America or certainly the one we often see in the movies.

Drive from Anchorage, Alaska to Seward and you will see some of the most beautiful mountains in the entire country. Furthermore, the countryside is full on animal life and eventually, you’ll see some great beaches too. It take approximately two and a half hours to drive this route.

Another drive that tied with the above route is driving north through the state of California. Highway 101 is not only famous but is a popular, iconic drive. It’s another motion picture ride. Yet another winner here would be to take Highway 1 up the scenic Pacific Coast. It’s mile after mile of noteworthy views. Highlights include the Big Sur area and the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge.

One truck driver enjoyed a one-day layover in Central Park on his way to Long Island. It reaches 95 m.p.h. during the very first drop. It features two hills that are both over 200 feet high and lasts for four minutes. It is also perhaps one of the most earthquake-proof roller coasters as well. You must be between 4.5 and feet tall to be seated on this attraction.

6. Ring Racer Nurburgring Motor Sports Complex, Germany

Opened in 2013, This formula-one themed roller coaster was originally meant to run parallel to a Grand Prix track. It can reach up to 135 m.p.h. In only 2.5 seconds. It has hit 99.4 m.p.h. In under two seconds and stands 123 feet high. The ride lasts for one minute and 25 seconds. In 2014 they stopped working to make it faster because it was not cost-effective. No specific rider height requirements were noted.

5. Superman: Escape from Krypton Six Flags Magic Mountain Park, California, U.S.

This ride is a real steel shuttle roller coaster in Valencia.  It has the power to go from 0 to 100 m.p.h. in only seven seconds thanks to its linear synchronous motors. It rises to 415 feet and gives passengers a momentary feeling of weightlessness. Problems stalled the original 1996 launch date. It was renovated and backward facing trains were added. It opened in 2011 with a ride duration time of under one minute. To fly with Superman you must be at least 4.5 feet tall.

4. Dodonpa Fuji-Q Highland Amusement Park, Yamanashi, Japan

Japan’s fastest roller coaster can hit 107 m.p.h. In 1.8 seconds. At this speed, passengers will experience a temporary sense of floating. It travels almost three-quarters of a mile in only 55 seconds (the duration of the ride). Officially opened in 2001, it held the title of
world’s fastest coaster until 2003 when it was booted down by the Top Thrill Dragster in the U.S. It reaches a height of 171 feet. Passengers must be at least 4.27 feet tall.

3. Top Thrill Dragster Cedar Point, Ohio, U.S.

This is not only the official second fastest roller coaster in the U.S., it’s also the official first strata coaster on the planet. It’s a true complete circuit roller coaster and stands at 420 feet. In just four seconds it goes from 0 to 120 m.p.h. It rises to a height of 412 feet. The ride includes a 90-degree incline and a memorable 270-degree descending twist. The ride lasts for only 30 seconds. Riders must stand between 4.33 and 6.5 feet tall.

2. Kingda Ka Six Flags Great Adventure, New Jersey, U.S.

You must be at least 4.5 feet tall to ride the official fastest roller coaster in the U.S. This 456-foot tall ride has a special hydraulic launch mechanism that ensures the coaster reaches 128 m.p.h. in only 3.5 seconds. At one point the ride drops 418 feet straight down at a 270-degree angle. The ride lasts for only 28 seconds during which time it takes passengers on a portion of upside down track that gives them a momentary sense of weightlessness.

Sorry, but you won’t be able to board the official world’s fastest roller coaster if you’re under 4.26 feet. The ride’s theme is a tribute to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy. The coaster has four trains and four passenger cars. When the ride starts, it climbs to a height of 71 feet and hits 150 m.p.h. In a mere five seconds. That speed is actually 4.8 times faster than being in free fall. All in all, the ride, covers close to 1.37 miles in 1.32 minutes.
