2Bolivia

Good old Bolivia receives a much lesser number of tourists compared to its more famous South American contemporaries such as Peru and Brazil. Of course, the landlocked nation may not impress everyone, especially beach bummers and Inca civilization seekers but there’s no dearth of explorations and adventures here.

Bolivia houses some of the most striking and unusual natural features such as flaming red lakes, rising volcanoes and the biggest flat salt plains – the Salar de Uyuni, which are spread over 3,860 square miles. The salt expanse creates a magnificent pristine white landscape that features many optical illusions. Come rains and the water body becomes a huge mirror reflecting the mesmerizing blue sky, leading to an ethereal looking landscape.
