Holy Fatality, Batman! If you’ve never been, Batman: The Ride is a theme roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia that carries passengers through both Gotham City and the Batcave. The ride also took the life of a teenager in June 2008. Asia Leeshawn Ferguson lost his hat on the ride when the wind whipped it off his head.
Once the Batman roller coaster ride came to an end, the 17-year-old looked for his lost hat through a fence until he finally found it lying beneath the beams and crossbars and beams of the ride. Determined to get it back, he blatantly ignored the multiple “Do Not Enter” signs posted all over the ride’s frame.
He next scaled the safety fence and headed toward his hat. He had unwittingly wandered into the path of the roller coaster barreling toward him at 50 m.p.h.
