15. Angkor Wat
Next on our list, we travel to the jungle in Siem Reap, Cambodia. For it is here you will find the massive lost Hindu temple complex known as Angkor Wat. Discovered in 1860 by famous French explorer Henri Mouhot, it was built by the Khmers in the 1100s. Covering 400 acres, it’s surrounded by a large moat and is the largest religious structure on the planet. Weatherwise, it’s best to visit between December and February.
