2Mesa Falls, Idaho

Mesa Falls is 115 feet high.  Here, near the city of Ashton, you’ll witness the water washing over the results of an old volcanic eruption at the neighboring Upper Mesa Falls prior to its traveling downriver for a mile to the Lower Mesa Falls.  Watch as the waters of Snake River flow through the solidified ash and lava there.

  1. So you’ve been to Bridal Veil Falls and all of these falls as well? Or do you simply really like Bridal Veil Falls? Thanks for reading!

  2. All the waterfalls in the US are spectacular, and thank you for posting a beautiful collection ,but I really like the Iguassu Falls in South America.

  3. Hi!
Yes, there are some beautiful falls in the USA but I agree with you. No country has a monopoly on natural beauty! That’s what’s so great about travel. Thank you for your kind words and for reading my stuff!

  4. I love waterfalls. I like to sit underneath it and get that back massage from the fall so lovely and relaxing

  5. They are beautiful, aren’t they? Personally, I prefer my water warmer, as in natural hot springs but I understand about the therapeutic aspect of them both. Thanks for reading and commenting!

  6. Hi!
For some reason that name sounds very familiar! I think I may have been in that area with the scouts a long time ago. If it’s any help, I generally don’t have the final say on what places make the list and what places don’t.
It might have been on the top 35 or been taken off to avoid have too many NY locations. Maybe it will make the next one if we do one again! Thanks for your comment!

  7. I all the time used to гead piecе оf ԝriting in news ρapers but now
as I am a user of internet so from now I am using
net for articles or revieᴡs, thanks to web.

  8. Alamere Falls in CA is so much nicer than many on this list. It’s a tidefall (waterfall that empties to the ocean) that requires 10 miles of hiking but absolutely worth it.

  9. Hi!
I believe I have mentioned that one in another article. It may have been mentioned in one of the hiking articles or another waterfalls piece. It did not make the cut on this one. As I have noted before, I do not often have much input on the actual winners. Thanks for your comment and thanks for reading!

  10. Added several destinations to my bucket list based on the article. However, I’ve been to Havasu Falls and the picture in the article is not of Havasu Falls. Although it looks like it was taken along Havasu Creek. That picture doesn’t come close to showing the wonder to be found in Havasu Canyon.

  11. Hi!
Thanks for your comment! I have also been there but did not take any pictures. (This was before smartphones and lightweight digital cameras.)

As to your claim about the picture used here, you would have to debate that with at least 40 other websites that have used this picture. I know that sometimes professional photographers get creative and have their own perspective and angles. I also know that sometimes photographers take pictures from a specific location to share the view, and also take pictures of the surrounding area as well. Undoubtedly, they see things different than we do sometimes.

    Thanks for your support!
