Charleston was founded in the 1600s. It’s famous for its architecture, Southern hospitality, and burgeoning food scene. Highlights here include Folly Beach, Fort Sumter (where the infamous Civil War actually began), Charleston Harbor and Waterfront Park, and Rainbow Row.  

There’s also the memorable Isle of Palms. Don’t forget to dine at the highly-praised restaurant, FIG, either. If you would prefer a hotel instead of an airbnb, consider the Belmond, the Zero George, or The Hotel Bennett which may or may not offer discounts to lady travel bloggers and their attractive friends. If you want a remote weekend getaway, consider Kiawah Island.
