You know the Barry Manilow song: “At the Copa Copacabana/Music and passion were always in fashion/At the Copa… they fell in love.” The famous Copacabana Palace is more than the initial inspiration for a song, not just the inspiration behind that love song, it’s a romantic place in Rio that overlooks Copacabana Beach, and features an art-deco exterior.
Founded in 1923, foodies will appreciate dining at the Michelin-starred Mee where they serve truly artistic culinary creations. It gets quite busy though during the annual Carnival. Former guests include the likes of Madonna, Queen’s Freddie Mercury, and Princess Diana.
