13. La Barceloneta Beach
If the artistic and cultural attractions overwhelm you, take a day to kick back on the beach. After all, Barcelona sits right on the Mediterranean. The biggest span of sand includes two beaches; the Platja de la Nova Icària and La Barceloneta.
The latter is the more popular because of the beachfront promenade (complete with bars and cafes), and the active atmosphere. Vendors walk along the beach offering an assortment of products and services including on-the-spot massages and mojitos. Amenities include on-site showers, changing rooms, lounge chairs, sports courts, and more.
