<p>There are many bizarre events that often make us stop and wonder. Most <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/10-mysterious-natural-phenomena-that-scientists-cant-explain/">unusual events</a> are easily explained once studied. There are moments, however, when even scientists pause prior to providing any proven specific answers as to how or why some things happen. </p>
<p>Check out these nine weird phenomena.</p>
<h4>9. Mammatus Clouds</h4>
<p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5696" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-2.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="486" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-2.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-2-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-2-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Mammatus clouds are also known as mammary clouds. These particular clouds actually have a certain cellular pattern of what some call “pouches” that hang underneath the cloud’s base. Typically speaking, they are found underneath cumulonimbus clouds that are heavy with rain.</p>
<p>They are quite often closely tied to severe weather conditions. They may appear both before and even after a storm. They often foretell the coming of a significant storm as well as storms that lead to tornadoes. Finally, they are strange because while most clouds are reported to form in rising air, these clouds form in sinking air.</p>

<h3>8. The Heat Anomaly In The Pyramid Of Giza</h3>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5697" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/8-1.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="405" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/8-1.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/8-1-300x166.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/8-1-696x385.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Research teams have been examining the famous Great Pyramid Of Giza for a long time now. Also known as the Pyramid of Cheops or the Pyramid of Khufu it is officially the oldest of all seven of the world’s “ancient wonders.” Scientists discovered unusual heat signatures there that had no immediate explanation.</p>
<p>The Pyramids were scanned and the research team discovered that there were some limestone blocks that had a higher heat signature than the others. This particular anomaly was found on the pyramid’s eastern side at ground level. There was no immediate explanation for these heat anomalies.</p>
<p>One popular theory is that the difference in heat levels could mean there is some type of hidden chamber inside the pyramid that has yet to be found. It is uncertain as this goes to press if scientists will ever confirm this. Some claim in order to prove any theories one would have to actually enter the now famous hidden chamber.</p>

<h3>7. Lake Hillier In Australia</h3>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5695" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-1.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="478" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-1.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-1-300x196.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-1-696x456.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-1-641x420.jpg 641w" sizes="(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Just off the south coast of Western Australia, Lake Hillier is the most famous of Australia’s weird “pink lakes.” It is situated on the largest of the Recherche Archipelago Islands, Middle Island. Separated from the Southern Ocean by a thin long shore, this lake is well-known for its bubble gum pink hue. Surrounded by eucalyptus trees and a firm rim of sand, the lake is 600 meters (over 656 yards) in length.</p>
<p>It is a saline lake and the only living thing in it are Dunaliella salina. These microorganisms cause the salt there to create a red-colored dye. This and the halophilic bacteria in the salt crust are currently believed to be the cause of the pink color. Nevertheless, there are things about the lake that still intrigue and surprise researchers.</p>

<h3>6. Socotra Island, Yemen</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5698" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-2.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="486" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-2.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-2-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-2-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>How would you like to explore terrain that is reminiscent of some alien world? If so, then, by all means, you should visit Socotra Island. Situated not far off the coast of Yemen this particular place has been called by some “the most alien-looking” spot on the planet.</p>
<p>Others have referred to it as a “lost world.” These comments are due in part to the fact that the high temperatures and not uncommon drought conditions of the entire isle have actually led to the creation of roughly 800 rare species of fauna and flora. As this goes to press, approximately one-third of those species have yet to be found anywhere else on Earth.</p>

<h3>5. Kelimutu, Indonesia</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5699" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-2.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="459" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-2.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-2-300x189.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-2-696x438.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-2-668x420.jpg 668w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Mount Kelimutu is essentially a volcano. It is situated near the town of Moni which is located in the center of the island of Flores in Indonesia. More specifically, it is almost 50 kilometers to the east of Ende. It has a trio of volcanic crater lakes that actually change color independently of the others and at different times.</p>
<p>Researchers believe that the colors of these lakes change because of alterations in the status of the oxidation-reduction of each separate lake’s liquids. It also believed that the amount of various major elements like manganese and iron. The color changes are unpredictable. Some note that this is because they have yet to regularly monitor enough to come to an official determination.</p>

<h3>4. Brain Injury Makes Man A Math Genius</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5700" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-2.jpg" alt="" width="720" height="720" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-2.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-2-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-2-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>A furniture sales representative, Jason Padgett was brutally attacked back in 2002. Today the Tacoma, Washington-based man views the world through a grand geometric lens. What was clearly a devastating brain injury appears to have somehow positively impacted his brain.</p>
<p>Now he sees everything in his personal world as some type of mathematical structure. Despite having at best a minimal interest in any academic subject, he somehow developed the mental talent to intuitively visualize physics concepts and complicated mathematical objects.</p>
<h3>3. Stonehenge, UK</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5701" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-2.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="485" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-2.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-2-696x462.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-2-632x420.jpg 632w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>For centuries, archaeologists and historians have been intrigued by the prehistoric monument known as Stonehenge. Found in Wiltshire in Southern <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/best-live-music-venues-in-london-england/">England</a>, it includes a ring of about 100 huge standing stones. It is estimated that Neolithic builders needed roughly 1,500 years to construct it.</p>
<p>Each stone weighs about 25 tons. Each standing stone is around seven feet or 2.1meters wide and 4 meters or 13 feet tall The first bluestones are believed to have been raised sometime between 2400 and 2200 BC although they may have been there since 3000 BC.</p>

<h3>2. Animal Rain</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5702" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-2.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="417" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-2.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-2-300x171.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-2-696x398.jpg 696w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Not to be confused with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvnYmWpD_T8">purple rain</a>, the beginnings of this strange phenomenon have reportedly changed over the years. The first example of this phenomenon dates back to some time in the first century AD. It was then that Pliny the Elder, a Roman naturalist, reports frogs and fish falling from the sky.</p>
