<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Are you ready to get out of the house and go somewhere but short on funds?  We’ve scoured travel sites to find some truly inexpensive stunning sunny surf and turf trips that won’t break the bank.  So, without further adieu, here are the 11 best cheap tropical vacations.</span></p>
<h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">1. Cozumel, Mexico</span></h3>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9643" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1-6.jpg" alt="" width="967" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1-6.jpg 967w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1-6-300x155.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1-6-768x397.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1-6-696x360.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1-6-812x420.jpg 812w" sizes="(max-width: 967px) 100vw, 967px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you like good weather and great prices, the best time to visit is between late March and June. You can spend all day on a Cozumel beach for free.  If you’d rather swim in a pool, buy a day pass at a local luxury resort.  You can use the pool and sun chairs and don’t have to pay to sleep there.  You can pick up a cheap souvenir and a bite to eat at the local mercado &#8211; a little market in the local plaza.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">2. Dominican Republic</span></h2>
<p><img decoding="async" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/1-6.jpg" alt="" width="930" height="620" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-9872" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/1-6.jpg 930w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/1-6-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/1-6-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/1-6-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/1-6-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 930px) 100vw, 930px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit the Dominican Republic from April through June and enjoy warm weather and discounted rates of up to 50 percent on flights and accommodations.   Avoid Punta Cana and Santo Domingo.  Instead, avoid the beaten path and stay in Bahia de las Aguilas or Samana.  In a lot of places, staying at an all-inclusive resort will save you money because there’s a 16 percent government tax and even a 10 percent service charge added to the check at many of the local restaurants.  </span></p>
<h2><span style="color: #111111; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 27px;">3. Palawan, Philippines</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9645" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/3-4.jpg" alt="" width="842" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/3-4.jpg 842w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/3-4-300x178.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/3-4-768x456.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/3-4-696x413.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/3-4-707x420.jpg 707w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 842px) 100vw, 842px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">June to November is the off-peak/monsoon season.  Which means that some afternoons there are heavy but short downpours.  If you visit before October, you’ll miss the heavier storms.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The hotels and airlines offer discounts as much as 80 percent.  El Nido and Puerto Princesa are right on the coast too.  The bungalows are low on luxury amenities but the beaches are free.  You can also explore the Tabon Caves and swim in the natural pool at the popular Estrella Falls for free too.    </span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">4. Bali, Indonesia</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-9646 aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/4-5.jpg" alt="" width="550" height="687" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/4-5.jpg 550w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/4-5-240x300.jpg 240w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/4-5-336x420.jpg 336w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Avoid such southern locations as Seminyak, Ubud, and Kuta.  Stay in the central hills or somewhere up north where you’ll pay much less.  If you visit in the off-season though, you’ll save money wherever you stay.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While it can be a bit rainy in March and April, you can get great deals on accommodations and airfares from October to April.  Veteran visitors confirm you&#8217;ll still have “plenty of sunshine” during your stay.  You can explore the beaches, mountains, palaces, rice paddies, and temples for free.  </span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">5. Luang Prabang, Laos</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9647" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/5-7.jpg" alt="" width="666" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/5-7.jpg 666w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/5-7-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/5-7-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/5-7-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/5-7-559x420.jpg 559w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 666px) 100vw, 666px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In Laos, you can grab a quick meal from a street stall for $2.00 or less.  Outside of Vientiane, even four-star accommodations will cost you roughly a third less than what you’d pay in Europe.  Visit from February through November and you’ll find lowers prices and smaller crowds.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit the temples in Luang Prabang for free.  Hike nearby Mount Phu Si.  You can see the national monuments, the Great Stupa Temple, and the garden of Buddha statues in Vientiane for free too.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">6. Koh Rong, Cambodia</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9648" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/6-4.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/6-4.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/6-4-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/6-4-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/6-4-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ancient temples in Angkor Wat are famous but if you want an inexpensive tropical vacation, head to Koh Rong.  Resort prices here are cheaper than those in nearby Thailand or even Malaysia.  If you want to do more than kick back on the beach, fret not.  For what you’d spend for a night at the movies, here you can take a full-day boat tour, eat lunch in a local restaurant for an entire weekend, or even rent everything needed for a day of snorkeling.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">7. Costa Rica</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9649" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/7-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/7-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/7-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/7-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/7-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The best time to save money in Costa Rica is from May to mid-December during the rainy &#8220;green season.”  The truth is there are still enough sunny days to relax on the beach.  Stay outside of the tourist towns&#8211;Arenal and San Jose.  Most of the national parks charge a low entrance fee but you can spend the day hiking at the Volcano Arenal.  Avoid the guided hikes and simply follow the signs.  You can also go canoeing, horseback riding, or relax in the hot springs.  </span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">8. Koh Samui, Thailand</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9650" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/8-3.jpg" alt="" width="1000" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/8-3.jpg 1000w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/8-3-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/8-3-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/8-3-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/8-3-840x420.jpg 840w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This popular beach destination experiences its low season from October through mid-December.  Avoid rainy afternoons by visiting in early December when it&#8217;s drier and sunnier.  You can get great prices on both airline tickets and hotels.  If you want to go scuba diving or snorkeling off the neighboring isle of Koh Tao visit from March to May (the shoulder season) when prices are great, you will avoid the rough seas and still be able to spot whale sharks close to the coast.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">9. Hoi An, Vietnam</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9651" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/9-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/9-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/9-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/9-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/9-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This private, romantic ancient trading port is perfect for an affordable tropical honeymoon location.  You can explore the entire old town on foot too.  It’s mere minutes away from the white sands and turquoise water of <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/the-17-best-things-to-do-in-vietnam/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Da Nang</a> too.  The low season here is between September and March (during typhoon season) so expect heavy but short afternoon rains.  You can save 50 percent or more on vacation packages and the beach hotels offer numerous amenities and are especially budget-friendly.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">10. Langkawi, Malaysia</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9652" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/10-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/10-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/10-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/10-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/10-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is a 99-isle tropical archipelago in the Andaman Sea.  The accommodations here are quite affordable all year.  If you visit during the rainy months of September or October, you can save 50 percent.  This is actually the best time to go shopping, explore the local caves, check out the stunning seven pools of Telaga Tujuh, stroll the awesome Sky Bridge 660 meters above the verdant rainforest, or hike through the lush mangrove forests of Kilim Geoforest Park all for free.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">11. Aruba, Caribbean Sea</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9653" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/11-3.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/11-3.jpg 960w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/11-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/11-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/11-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/11-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The cheapest months to visit this tropical location are September and October when the trade winds are down and the temperature rises.  If you don’t mind sweltering heat and spend a lot of time in the water, you can get discounts of 50 percent or more on rooms.  Bring your own beach towel and stock up on snacks at the local supermarkets to cut down on costs.  Stroll across the California Dunes, explore the famous Balashi ruins, and ride the free tourist trolley through Oranjestad town too.</span></p>

<p>If you are looking for a great tropical vacation, look no further. We researched dreamy destinations that feature beautiful beaches, warm waters, super scenery, and nigh limitless sunshine. Here then, without further adieu are the 15 best tropical vacations yet.</p>
<h4>1. Maldives</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6993" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-22.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="488" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-22.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-22-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-22-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-22-628x420.jpg 628w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>The Maldives is located in the Indian Ocean southwest of both Sri Lanka and India. There are 26 beautiful natural atolls. The capital is Male but the bone-white beaches and luxury resorts are out beyond that. It is the perfect destination for a cruise vacation too.</p>
<p>Simply put, while The Maldives offers visitors a lot it is not a top tourist cruise stop. Experience world-class snorkeling and diving. Visit the North and South Male atolls if you’re interested in surfing. There are other great activities offered here too including swimming with whale sharks and manta rays and even big-game fishing.</p>

<h3>2. Bora Bora, Tahiti</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6994" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-7.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="486" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-7.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-7-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-7-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-7-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>The South Pacific paradise known as Bora Bora is highlighted by an emerald peak surrounded by a crystal clear blue lagoon. You will see coconut palms clustered along above the water. You can even get one with glass floors so you can see the marine life below you.</p>
<p>But there’s more than natural beauty here. There is a cultural appeal as well. There is gourmet cuisine that comes complete with a Gallic influence. The official language, however, is French.</p>
<p>There’s a lot to do here as well. There are numerous water sports, kayaking trips to tiny islands (motu), scenic hiking trails, and, for the more adventurous, shark dives. While it can be pricey, it remains a top destination for not only honeymoons but also “once-in-a-lifetime” tropical vacations.</p>

<h3>3. Riviera Maya, Mexico</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6996" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-5.jpg" alt="" width="680" height="510" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-5.jpg 680w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-5-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-5-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-5-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-5-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></p>
<p>Also known as the Mayan Riviera, the Riviera Maya provides visitors with zesty local cuisine, culture, and beautiful beaches too for a decidedly affordable price. Located along the Caribbean coast, on the tip of the well-known Yucatán peninsula, the Mayan Riviera includes the resort destinations of Playa del Carmen, Cancún, and the stunning island of Cozumel.</p>
<p>There’s no need to book rooms at an all-inclusive resort here, but if you choose to you’ll discover several different options. There are also yoga retreats and intimate boutique hotels. The best value resort is Barcelo Maya Palace.</p>
<p>The best bet for families is the Rosewood Mayakoba. So check in then enjoy diving, fishing, snorkeling and swimming with dolphins and stingrays. Explore the ancient ruins of Tulum or take a day-trip to the popular Chichén Itzá.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>4. Aitutaki, Cook Islands</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6997" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-8.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="375" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-8.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-8-300x154.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-8-696x358.jpg 696w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Ensconced in the Cook Islands, Aitutaki is a favorite of travel experts. It’s also reported to be a regular “dream destination” for anyone longing to be a castaway. Aitutaki features a gleaming aqua lagoon, sublime beaches with plenty of palm trees, and verdant peaks.  The locals are said to be some of the friendly folks in the entire South Pacific too.</p>
<p>While Rarotonga is the biggest island and the main tourist stop, Aitutaki is only a 45-minute flight beyond the gateway and the true jewel of this wonderful 15-island tropical archipelago. Here you can go fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming and experience village life. Here you can also have access to over 20 motu (little islands) around the lagoon. If you can afford it, stay in a luxurious, private over-the-water bungalow that includes a private motu where you can play Robinson Crusoe (or Tom Hanks) for the day.</p>

<h3>5. Kauai, Hawaii, USA</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-7051" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-26-1024x683.jpg" alt="" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-26-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-26-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-26-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-26-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-26-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-26-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/1-26.jpg 1920w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Kauai is the “Garden Isle” of the island state. It includes tropical coastal peaks, waterfalls, and deep rainforests amidst natural, lava-carved landscapes. While Maui and Oahu (the birthplace of yours truly) are more popular, Kauai is less commercial and more relaxing.</p>
<p>Kauai is famous for having one of the planet’s rainiest locations but it also includes a number of other microclimates as well. For example, the Poipu area is drier. Here you will discover more than golden beaches.</p>
<p>Here you can hike the peaks of the Napali Coast, take in the scenic view from Hanalei Bay’s cliffs and explore all 10 miles of Waimea Canyon. Other attractions include sleepy beachside monk seals, charming coastal towns, colorful coral reefs, tropical gardens, wild waterfalls, and exceptional surf breaks.</p>

<h3>6. The Mamanuca Islands, Fiji</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-7052" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-8-1024x683.jpg" alt="" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-8-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-8-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-8-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-8-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-8-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-8-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2-8.jpg 1600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>The Mamanuca Islands are the perfect spot for a tropical vacation if you favor sun-soaked South Seas islands. Found in Fiji, they’re but a brief boat ride out of the gateway village of Nadi. This is a string of approximately 20 Instagramable islands.</p>
<p>They are praised for their thriving coral reefs, palm-dotted beaches, and clear water. Indeed, it’s no wonder why TV’s “Survivor” and the film <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TWYDogv4WQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Cast Away</em></a> were shot here. Where you specifically stay depends on both your budget and your interests.</p>
<p>There are several different options. They include family-friendly hotels with traditional huts, backpacker resorts, luxury hideaways such as Likuliku Lagoon Resort, Vomo Island Resort, and even the adults-only Tokoriki Island Resort. Mid-range resorts include Malolo Island Resort, Mana Island Resort, and (of course) Castaway Island.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>7. St. Barts, The Caribbean</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7000" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/7-7.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="486" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/7-7.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/7-7-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/7-7-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/7-7-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>French-influenced St. Barts is the place to be if you like a jet-setter scene that comes complete with private villas, and fun in the sun in a tropical paradise. Expect a sizable price tag though as mega-moguls and movie stars mean you pay more for food and accommodations. Still, your purchase comes complete with beauteous blond beaches backed by verdant hills, world-class dining and shopping, and a more sophisticated culture that other tropical locations lack.</p>
<p>Naturally visiting in low season will garner you some decent deals. You can even stay in a boutique hotel or private villa and live like the rich and famous do but for less. You can also go diving, kite-surfing, sailing, fishing, surfing, snorkeling, and kayaking. Visit Gustavia, the pretty red-roofed capital, too.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>8. The Abacos, The Bahamas</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7053" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-7.jpg" alt="" width="728" height="486" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-7.jpg 728w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-7-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-7-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/3-7-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p>The Abacos is located less than 187 miles east of the state of Florida. Here you will discover some of the best water in the world for sailing. Also known as the Family Islands or the Out Islands, this peaceful place seems a world away from the tourist traps of Florida. Here you can enjoy pine-fringed, semi-private <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Rdg6OWrfTg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">beaches</a>, quaint fishing villages, and lively coral reefs. Here the main modes of transportation are boats and golf carts.</p>
<p>History buffs will note the impact of the Brit Loyalists who originally settled here. It can be seen in the colonial cottages. The best spots for a low-key tropical vacation include the three-mile-long, charming, old school Green Turtle Cay, Elbow Cay, with its popular candy-striped lighthouse and Treasure Cay with its white-sand beach.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>9. Ambergris Caye, Belize</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7002" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-5.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="485" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-5.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-5-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-5-696x462.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-5-632x420.jpg 632w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Ambergris Caye can be found right off the tip of the well-known Yucatán Peninsula. It’s the largest and most popular of Belize’s 200 cayes. Its famous Hol Chan Marine Reserve makes for some great snorkeling and diving.</p>
<p>A mere half-mile from shore, the Belize Barrier Reef system is the world’s second-largest. Visit Shark Ray Alley where you can come face to face with stingrays and nurse sharks. Fishermen flock to the flats here for barracuda, snook, permit, and tarpon fishing.</p>
<p>Drop in on the lively town of San Pedro. Dine on fresh fish at the funky eateries found there. The northern section of the isle is located so close to Mexico you can also sample Mexican-inspired cuisine too. A lot of the locals even habla Espanol.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>10. Dominican Republic</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7004" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/10-5.jpg" alt="" width="680" height="510" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/10-5.jpg 680w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/10-5-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/10-5-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/10-5-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/10-5-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></p>
<p>The Dominican Republic on the island of Hispaniola in the Greater Antilles is a great choice for travelers on a budget looking for a tropical vacation. Mind you, this place is not simply great value resorts and beautiful beaches. DR is home to a number of diverse ecosystems too.</p>
<p>It includes coral reefs, deserts, jungles, mangroves, savanna, and green peaks. Go white water rafting in the popular Río Yaque del Norte. Hike through the jungle to the waterfalls, and go bicycling through pine forests.</p>
<p>Visit Santo Domingo. It’s the capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to its history and colonial architecture. If you’d like to stay at an all-inclusive resort head to La Romana, Punta Cana, or Samaná. If you just want to dive, snorkel, sunbathe, surf, and swim, you can do that as well.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>11. Bali, Indonesia</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7005" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/11-5.jpg" alt="" width="680" height="509" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/11-5.jpg 680w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/11-5-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/11-5-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/11-5-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/11-5-561x420.jpg 561w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></p>
<p>Bali offers a tropical vacation with a spiritual aspect. Look at the incense-filled temples and gentle, calm locals. Naturally, it is more than that.</p>
<p>See the rice paddies in the setting sun. There are unique shops, restaurants, and beach scenes. Bali also offers affordable spa treatments.</p>
<p>Ensconced in the green hills, Ubud is what some call the isle’s “emerald soul.” If you’re traveling with the family Sanur is the place to be. Veteran visitors suggest staying in Seminyak or Kuta which both include super surf beaches.</p>
<p>Accommodation options include numerous options from inexpensive hostels to luxurious villas complete with personal drivers and chefs. Still not enough? Take a day-trip to the popular nearby isle of Lombok.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>12. Port Douglas, Australia</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-7054 size-large" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-10-1024x681.jpg" alt="" width="696" height="463" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-10.jpg 1024w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-10-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-10-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-10-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/4-10-632x420.jpg 632w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Port Douglas is located roughly an hour north of the city of Cairns in Queensland. This upscale destination has gone from a charming fishing village to a tropical tourist spot and a base for wilderness safaris and reef trips. An ideal place for nature lovers, it’s close to the Daintree Rainforest, and the Great Barrier Reef.</p>
<p>Of course, you needn’t leave PD to enjoy the beach. Port Douglas has Four Mile Beach. It’s a great place for long walks on the beach but there’s no swimming during infamous stinger season (from November through June).</p>
<p>Additional attractions include riding the Bally Hooley Sugar Train through the cane fields to Mossman, the Wildlife Habitat, and fishing trips through the Cape York Peninsula. The best time to go is from May through September when it’s cooler and drier.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>13. The Andaman Coast, Thailand</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-7055" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-1024x711.jpg" alt="" width="696" height="483" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-1024x711.jpg 1024w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-300x208.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-768x534.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-696x484.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-1068x742.jpg 1068w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9-604x420.jpg 604w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/6-9.jpg 1920w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>This is not only the place for fiery food, exotic culture, and wonderful scenery, but it won’t break your budget either. Veteran visitors use the Andaman Coast (specifically Krabi or Phuket) as a base from which to explore all the islands in the Andaman Sea. The limestone peaks rising from the turquoise water here are most striking.</p>
<p>If you’re looking for resorts, Phi Phi Don has them. If you’re a movie buff, there’s Ko Phi Phi Leh, where the Leonardo DiCaprio film <em>The Beach</em> was shot. There’s also Phang Nga Bay, home to famous James Bond Island. If you want a more personal patch of tropical paradise though travel a bit further afield. The best time to go is any time other than during monsoon (late May through mid-October.)</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>14. The Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7056" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/8-6.jpg" alt="" width="1000" height="700" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/8-6.jpg 1000w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/8-6-300x210.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/8-6-768x538.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/8-6-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/8-6-696x487.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/8-6-600x420.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Nicoya Peninsula is situated on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Its jungle-like forests attract eco-tourists but this place is much more than that. While Tamarindo is a big tourist town where you can zipline and go horseback riding, there are other places to see if you wish to avoid the tourist trade.</p>
<p>Playa Tamarindo is perfect for surfers of all skill levels and also includes plenty of hotels and restaurants. This place attracts backpackers, families, too. If you love leatherback turtles the best time to visit is when they nest at Playa Grande from October through March. Be sure to visit the popular Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve which now protects one of the last unspoiled portions of cloud forest on the continent.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>15. Florida Keys, USA</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-7057" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-6-1024x685.jpg" alt="" width="696" height="466" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-6-1024x685.jpg 1024w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-6-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-6-768x514.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-6-696x466.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-6-1068x715.jpg 1068w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-6-628x420.jpg 628w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9-6.jpg 1920w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Florida Keys is where you will find the United States’ only coral reef. The Florida Keys are actually coral isles that are joined by causeways. You can cruise between via the well-known Overseas Highway, which runs from Key West to Key Largo south.</p>
<p>US Residents don’t even have to leave the country for a fun tropical fix. Located less than 111 miles south of Miami and less than 90 miles from Cuba, visitors can stroll the palm-lined sand or do some fantastic fishing. Other attractions include the popular Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary right off Key Largo, Bahia Honda State Park, legendary Key West, and (for those into snorkeling and diving) the well-known John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.</p>
