<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Even something as beautiful as a waterfall can be dangerous. Consider both the quantity and the power of the water as it rushes downward and the damage that it could do to anyone falling down it. Waterfalls can be dangerous. While it is impossible to get all sources to agree completely, there are a number of waterfalls that appear on almost every list. With that in mind, here are the top 10 most dangerous waterfalls on Earth.  </span></p>
<h4><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Top 10 Most Dangerous Waterfalls On Earth</span></i></h4>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Victoria Falls, Zambia, And Zimbabwe </span></h2>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15353" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/122.jpg" alt="" width="1000" height="647" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/122.jpg 1000w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/122-300x194.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/122-768x497.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/122-696x450.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/122-649x420.jpg 649w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Victoria Falls can be found on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya or “The Bank that Thunders” and Shungu Namutitima or “Boiling Water.” Some sources argue it is the world’s most dangerous waterfall.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While it isn’t the widest or the highest, it is still designated the largest based on its combined height of 108 meters (354 feet) and width of 1,708 meters (5,604 feet). It is more than twice as wide as <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/10-things-to-do-in-niagara-falls/">Niagara Falls</a> and almost twice as high. If you stand too close, your body will actually tremble.  </span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Angel Falls, Venezuela</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-15183 aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2-wiki.jpg" alt="" width="399" height="600" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2-wiki.jpg 450w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2-wiki-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2-wiki-280x420.jpg 280w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Angel Falls is officially named after Jimmie Angel, the first US pilot to fly over these falls. Like all the other waterfalls here, it is high in both physical height and related death rates. It made the list mainly because it is the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall. It is 972 meters (3,212 feet) tall.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ban Gioc-Detian Falls, China, And Vietnam</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15184" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/3-wiki.jpg" alt="" width="674" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/3-wiki.jpg 674w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/3-wiki-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/3-wiki-561x420.jpg 561w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/3-wiki-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/3-wiki-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 674px) 100vw, 674px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ban Gioc-Detian Falls is the official collective name for a pair of falls found on the Quây Son River which straddles the border between Vietnam and China. It is 272 kilometers (271+ miles) due north of Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. If you travel to these falls at any time during the wet season, you will be practically deafened by the sound of the rushing water thundering 30 meters (98 feet) downward to strike the rocks below.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Gullfoss Falls, Iceland</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15185" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/4-4.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/4-4.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/4-4-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/4-4-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/4-4-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Gullfoss is Icelandic for “Golden Falls.” Nestled in the canyon of the Hvítá River, it is reported to be very popular with tourists and day trippers alike. Along with the geysers of Haukadalur and Þingvellir, it is part of the popular Golden Circle attraction.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Thus, it is a part of the majority of tours in Iceland. Gullfoss Falls is also an official UNESCO World Heritage Site more famous for its beauty than its deadliness. Interestingly enough, your view is partially obscured, and the cascading water appears to vanish. Music aficionados may have seen this place in the <a href="https://youtu.be/z_nImUzRv0w" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Heaven”</a> music video by the American rock band Live.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hannoki-no-taki, Japan</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15186" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/5-pinterest.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/5-pinterest.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/5-pinterest-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/5-pinterest-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/5-pinterest-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/5-pinterest-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hannoki-no-taki, in the Toyama region, is notorious in Japan. Some travel writers compare it to Aun no-no-Taki. At a height of 497 meters high (or 1,640 feet), it is considered by many to not only be one of Japan’s highest waterfalls, but also one of the most dangerous.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In fact, a number of sources consider it “the most dangerous” waterfall anywhere in the world. The best time to visit is in the fall after the end of the rainy season. For it is then that it is the most beautiful. Stop and see its neighbor, the Shomyo Waterfall too.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Niagara Falls, Canada, And The USA</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15187" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/6-5.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/6-5.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/6-5-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/6-5-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/6-5-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Arguably the most famous falls in the world, this trio of thunderous, wide cascades are situated in New York State near Buffalo and crash across the US border into the country of Canada. Individually, they are the Bridal Veil Falls, American Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. The water not only has a distinctive blue-green tint but also a long, well-known history of individuals who have all tried to go over the falls and survive. The least successful would-be daredevil, of course, left only a single arm to mark his attempt. Movie mavens might recognize the place from the 1980 feature film </span><a href="https://youtu.be/Fleej1FHxTA" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Superman II</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.  </span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Shomyo-Daki, Japan </span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-15188 aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/7-wiki-1.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="667" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/7-wiki-1.jpg 450w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/7-wiki-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/7-wiki-1-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The previously mentioned Shomyo-Daki, like its neighbor Hannoki-no-taki, can be found in the town of Tateyama, in the Toyama Prefecture. It is officially the highest waterfall in Japan. It is 350 meters high (or 1,148 feet). These falls actually have four separate stages.</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The first is70 meters high. The second is 58 meters. The third is 96 meters and the final is 126 meters. The best time to visit is between early and mid-summer. That’s when the snow up in the Tateyama Mountains melts. The lake at the very bottom is over 6 meters deep.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Langfossen Falls, Norway</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15190" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/8-4.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/8-4.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/8-4-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/8-4-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/8-4-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Travel to the municipality of Etne. For it is here that you will find Langfossen Falls. In English, the name means “Long Falls.”  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is the 16th highest permanent waterfall in Europe as the water drops down a good 600 meters to the fjord below. Both the refreshing water spray and the resulting rainbows make Langfossen Falls quite beautiful. It should be no surprise then that this is one of the most popular places in the country for both visitors and locals alike.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hogenakkal Falls, South India</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15191" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/9-wiki-1.jpg" alt="" width="751" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/9-wiki-1.jpg 751w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/9-wiki-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/9-wiki-1-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/9-wiki-1-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hogenakkal Falls is nestled along the Kaveri River in the state of Tamil Nadu at an elevation of 700 meters (or 2.300 feet). It is commonly referred to as “the Niagara Falls of India.” For a really close look, take a guided boat tour. Tourists are advised to visit during thunderstorm season to get the full effect.  </span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Havasu Falls, USA</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-15192 aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/10-4.jpg" alt="" width="475" height="593" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/10-4.jpg 450w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/10-4-240x300.jpg 240w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/10-4-336x420.jpg 336w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The most well-known of five different waterfalls, <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/havasu-falls-a-guide/">Havasu Falls</a> may be one of the most popular sights in Arizona’s world-famous Grand Canyon, but it can also be quite dangerous. Regular readers may recall the combination of blue-green water and orange and pink rocks here make it a “must-see” attraction on the resident Havasupai Indian Reservation. The rushing water here plunges down between 90 to 100 feet. The sound of the falling water can be heard over half a mile away.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There you have it, fellow travelers, the top 10 most dangerous <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/22-most-jaw-droppingly-beautiful-waterfalls-in-the-world/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">waterfalls</a> on Earth.
