<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s time to add to your bucket list. There are a lot of beautiful places in the world that you really should see. Yet if you don’t plan carefully, the views are obscured by tons of tourists.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So, if you’re looking to switch things up a bit, and would like to see places that are arguably just as beautiful as the traditional tourist stops, but comparatively crowd-free. consider these beautiful places that you may not even know exist. Here to help you finalize your list, are the 20 most beautiful places in the world you might not know exist.</span></p>
<h4><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 20 Most Beautiful Places in the World You may not Know Exist</span></i></h4>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Abraham Lake, Canada</span></h2>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16611" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/1-4.jpg" alt="beautiful" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/1-4.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/1-4-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/1-4-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/1-4-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’ve ever pondered over what can happen when methane bubbles generated by bacteria feeding off of various dead matter on a lake floor get trapped in freezing water, look no further than Abraham Lake in Alberta, Canada. While methane bubbles go unnoticed in an unfrozen lake, here they actually create numerous pockets that look like orbs caught inside the ice. If you’re out there snowmobiling and need a smoke break, don’t light up here. If the ice actually cracks and those bubbles burst, methane is quite flammable.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cueva de los Cristales, Mexico</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-16612 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2-wallpaperflarecom.jpg" alt="beautiful" width="878" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2-wallpaperflarecom.jpg 878w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2-wallpaperflarecom-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2-wallpaperflarecom-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2-wallpaperflarecom-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2-wallpaperflarecom-745x420.jpg 745w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 878px) 100vw, 878px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Also known as the “Cave of Crystals”, until 2000, most people didn’t even know this place in Chihuahua, <a href="https://youtu.be/1lqvB5_wWVc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mexico</a> existed. It was in 2000 that two siblings mining for silver accidentally uncovered the cavern. The cave is rife with 30-foot, translucent crystals. Some of them are almost half a million years old. To see it though you must take a 20-minute ride through a deep mine shaft. It’s terribly hot and humid here due to the hot magma field that runs one mile beneath your very feet.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Dean&#8217;s Blue Hole, The Bahamas</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-16613 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/3wiki.jpg" alt="beautiful" width="660" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/3wiki.jpg 660w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/3wiki-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/3wiki-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/3wiki-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/3wiki-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will find Dean’s Blue Hole on Long Island in the Bahamas. This hidden gem combines Mexican cenotes with Caribbean beaches, albeit under the sea. It’s reported to be the world’s largest blue hole too.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mind you, the surrounding limestone walls and white sand beach in themselves are worthy of inclusion. You don’t reach the real treat until you go through the 60-foot bottleneck. That’s where this blue hole opens into one of Earth’s largest underwater cenotes. It’s highlighted by current-free clear turquoise water, tropical fish, and even seahorses.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Crystal Mill, USA</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-16614 aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/4-2.jpg" alt="beautiful" width="450" height="567" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/4-2.jpg 450w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/4-2-238x300.jpg 238w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/4-2-333x420.jpg 333w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Head to Marble, Colorado, less than one hour out of Aspen. It is here, following up to an eight-hour hike, that you will find the Crystal Mill. It&#8217;s the sole remnant of a ghost town nestled at the base of the rugged Rocky Mountains. If you’re a leaf lover, be sure to visit in the fall. You can check out the mill, and see the snow-topped mountains, and the golden leaves all at the same time.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Iguazu Falls, Argentina</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-16615 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/5-2.jpg" alt="beautiful" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/5-2.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/5-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/5-2-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/5-2-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">These fantastic falls found in a lush rainforest in Misiones Province aren’t as obscure as other entries here but equating them with Victoria or Niagara doesn’t do these falls justice. Iguazu Falls are like a city of waterfalls. There are 250 of them spanning an area of almost two miles. 53,000 cubic feet of water thunder over the falls every second.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lençóis Maranhenses, Brazil</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-16616 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/6-2.jpg" alt="beautiful" width="880" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/6-2.jpg 880w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/6-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/6-2-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/6-2-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/6-2-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The name of this attraction in Maranhao translates to &#8220;bedsheets of Maranhao.” To be fair, these pristine coastal dunes swaying along 600 square miles of shoreline actually do resemble bed sheets. These distinctive dunes are born of a specific natural process. The Preguicas and Parnaiba Rivers carry sand from within Brazil to the ocean, and the currents and winds blow inland, sending the sand to the shore. This place might seem like a desert, but temporary lagoons appear here between the sand dunes during the rainy season and they reportedly make exceptional fishing holes.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cavernas de Marmol, Chile </span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16617" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/7-flickr.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="502" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/7-flickr.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/7-flickr-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/7-flickr-696x466.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/7-flickr-627x420.jpg 627w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Cavernas de Marmol, a.k.a. the Marble Cathedral. Is located in Lake General Carrera. The caves here are accessible only by boat and are found close to the Argentina-Chile border.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They actually reflect the water’s color. They’re turquoise in spring, but dark blue in summer. These reflections also alter the way the marble’s patterns look. So, if you visit during different times of the year, each visit will be a unique experience. Mind you, after you drive 1,000 miles from Santiago and the long boat ride, one visit might be plenty.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Forest of Knives, Madagascar </span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16618" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/8-flickr.jpg" alt="beautiful" width="832" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/8-flickr.jpg 832w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/8-flickr-300x178.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/8-flickr-768x457.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/8-flickr-696x414.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/8-flickr-706x420.jpg 706w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 832px) 100vw, 832px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If this name reminds you more of a setting for some cheesy horror movie, people also refer to it as the Tsingy Forest. This limestone forest is surrealistically beautiful. Here you will discover a combination of 200-foot rock slabs and native trees that create a fantastic forest of both jagged peaks and leaves. The main draw here is actually rock climbing. Veteran visitors recommend caution though because climbing here can be exceptionally dangerous. One slip and you could suffer what some call “a Ginsu-like gash.”</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Seven-Coloured Earth of Chamarel</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16619" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/9-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/9-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/9-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/9-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/9-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You’ll find this beautiful place in Chamarel, Mauritius. We know there’s no pot of gold at the end of rainbows and no matter how quick you are, they’re often gone before you can Instagram them. Ah, but this particular rainbow is actually made out of sand and may withstand thousands of years of erosion and rain. These colorful rainbow sand dunes feature seven different colors of sand: blue, brown, green, purple, red, violet, and yellow. Amazingly, if you scoop up the sand, put it into a clear bottle, and mix it up, the sand will slowly resettle into the individual colored layers.  </span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Deadvlei, Namibia</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16620" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/10-3.jpg" alt="" width="735" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/10-3.jpg 735w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/10-3-300x206.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/10-3-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/10-3-696x478.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/10-3-611x420.jpg 611w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/10-3-100x70.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 735px) 100vw, 735px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Journey to Hardap. Here you will find a valley featuring little more than a nigh-oppressive sun and 1,300-foot-tall sand dunes in what was, 900 years ago, a verdant forest irrigated by the mighty Tsauchab River. Now there’s not even enough water here to allow the parched remaining trees to decompose. Thus, they remain there as little more than charred relics. Throw in a deep-blue sky and rust-tinged sand and this is one of the world’s most colorful yet desolate travel destinations.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Deception Island, Antarctica</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16621" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/11-4.jpg" alt="" width="868" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/11-4.jpg 868w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/11-4-300x171.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/11-4-768x438.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/11-4-696x397.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/11-4-736x420.jpg 736w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 868px) 100vw, 868px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Yes, hiking to the very top of a genuine active volcano is an exceptional experience. So is boating into one. Here on this isle in the South Shetland Islands, you can do both.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Don’t fret though as this volcano has not actually erupted since 1992. It has a convenient horseshoe-shaped caldera, and boats can sail up to the smoldering beaches there. Cruise around the memorable volcanic bay and take in the view of the ash and snow that cover the various lava formations in the middle of the steam.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Lemaire Channel, Antarctica</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16622" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/12-4.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/12-4.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/12-4-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/12-4-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/12-4-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/12-4-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This striking channel is seven miles in length and has a width of one mile. It is located between Kyiv Peninsula and the majestic mountains on Booth Island. Because it is so photogenic, it was first nicknamed the “Kodak Channel.” The best time to visit this beautiful place is when the entrance is not blocked by any ice. That way, the boat you are on can actually make the trip inside the channel.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Red Seabeach, China</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16623" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/13-flickr.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/13-flickr.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/13-flickr-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/13-flickr-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/13-flickr-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/13-flickr-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Travel to Pinjin, a beautiful spot in China. The best time to visit this wondrous wetland is in September. That’s when the striking seepweeds mature and change from green to bright scarlet.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nevertheless, this marsh, spanning an area of 16 miles, is one of the country’s most beautiful places to see the various birds and native wildlife all year. In September though, the red fields draw numerous flocks of 200+ species of birds that migrate all the way from Asia to Australia. Enjoy the view from one of the numerous wooden bridges constructed over the water there.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Sea of Stars, Maldives</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16624" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/14-pinterest.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="499" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/14-pinterest.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/14-pinterest-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/14-pinterest-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/14-pinterest-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Vaadhoo Island is one of the Maldives’ inhabited islands. It is here that you will find one of the world’s few bioluminescent bays. (Puerto Rico’s La Parguera is arguably one of the more well-known.) Both are home to a specific species of plankton named dinoflagellates which gives water a distinctly otherworldly glow. Vaadhoo Island stands out though because the plankton’s stunning blue light appears almost to be reflecting the starlight.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">El Nido, Philippines</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16625" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/15-and-feature-pic-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/15-and-feature-pic-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/15-and-feature-pic-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/15-and-feature-pic-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/15-and-feature-pic-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">El Nido is the gorgeous gateway to the Philippines&#8217; beautiful Bacuit Archipelago and is located in the pretty province of Palawan under 420 kilometers from Manila. Renowned for its coral reefs, limestone cliffs, lush foliage, turquoise water, and stunning white-sand beaches. Indeed, there are more than 50 different beaches here and El Nido supposedly inspired Alex Garland&#8217;s 1996 novel </span><a href="https://youtu.be/7vSsx1RkGls" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Beach</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Be prepared to be patient though as a trip to this beautiful locale does require a long, seven-hour bus ride.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lord Howe Island, Australia</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16626" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/16-4.jpg" alt="" width="748" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/16-4.jpg 748w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/16-4-300x203.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/16-4-696x470.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/16-4-622x420.jpg 622w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 748px) 100vw, 748px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some travel bloggers claim that the main reason you probably have not heard of this beautiful island found 375 miles off of New South Wales is because there is no cellphone signal on the exceptional isle. Thus, the two main attractions here are the obvious digital detox and the wildlife. Because it is such an isolated spot, you will find species of birds, plants, and insects that do not exist anywhere else on the planet.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The island itself is close to a coral reef, so this is a great place to go snorkeling and scuba diving too. Don’t worry about crowds either. Only 400 visitors are permitted here at one time.  </span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Homebush Bay, Australia </span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16627" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/17-wiki.jpg" alt="" width="990" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/17-wiki.jpg 990w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/17-wiki-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/17-wiki-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/17-wiki-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/17-wiki-840x420.jpg 840w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 990px) 100vw, 990px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You might think Sydney is a comparatively unremarkable residential bay, but it slots in on this list for the sea vessel near its coastline. Christened the SS Ayrfield, this ship was constructed during World War I. It carried supplies to US troops in the Pacific Ocean during WWII and in the 1950s was purchased by an oil company and anchored in this bay.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As the years rolled by, nature made the ship its own. Today it is an artificial island complete with plants and trees and even wildlife. It is oddly both decrepit and beautiful.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Chapel of Saint-Michel d&#8217;Aiguilhe, France</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16628" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/18-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/18-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/18-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/18-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/18-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Have you ever wondered if, even with modern-day resources, would man be capable of building something atop a little, pointed rock? If so, then you need to travel to Le Puy-en-Velay in France. Believe it or not, back in 962 workers built this stone cathedral on a basalt needle without the aid of hydraulics, or cranes. They physically hauled the huge stones all the way up 268 stairs. The view of the village below is remarkable!</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Crystal Cave, Iceland</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16629" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/19-flickr-1.jpg" alt="" width="751" height="501" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/19-flickr-1.jpg 751w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/19-flickr-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/19-flickr-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/19-flickr-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will find this beautiful place in Skaftafell in Vatnajokull National Park. The 22-foot entryway on the shoreline may mislead you. The blue-crystal cave itself actually tapers downward to no more than four feet. It will actually pop and crack as you enter.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Fret not though, fellow traveler, as it is not an indication of an imminent collapse. It is simply the sound of the glacier moving slightly against the volcanic island. It was created over centuries and has an almost unreal look to it too. Undoubtedly, that’s why it has been used as a shooting location for such TV shows as <a href="https://youtu.be/mK_gF5SQBys" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Game of Thrones”</a> and such films as </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Interstellar</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Picos de Europa, Spain</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16630" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/20-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/20-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/20-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/20-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/20-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We admit it. Travel writers and tourists alike give a lot of their attention to the Pyrenees and the Alps. Still, the Pico de Europa is a worthy albeit comparatively small mountain range close to the northern coast of Spain. It stretches through the Asturias, Cantabria, and Leon regions and is arguably just as beautiful as the more popular, well-known ranges.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While it only spans an area of approximately 26 miles, there are many reasons why one should consider adding it to their bucket list. Its highest peak, known as Macizo Central or Macizo de los Urrieles, is only 8,000 feet high. Still, when one rates it on snowshoeing, and skiing away from tons of tourists, this is the place to be. In the <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/small-towns-for-summer-vacations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">summer</a> it has an abundance of Spanish brown bears and wildflowers too!</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Like to see more of the USA but want to start with the best? While sources might not all agree on which US states are the best, there are several states that appear on a majority of “most beautiful states” lists. Each state was evaluated on diversity, visual highlights, and man-made and natural beauty. So read on and see if you agree with this list of the top 20 most beautiful states in the USA.</span></p>
<h4><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Top 20 Most Beautiful States in the USA </span></i></h4>
<h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">1. </span>California</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16105" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/1-3.jpg" alt="" width="680" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/1-3.jpg 680w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/1-3-300x223.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/1-3-566x420.jpg 566w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/1-3-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/1-3-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/30-incredible-bucket-list-places-to-visit-in-california/">California</a> tops the list of most beautiful states in the USA today. The state spans an area of roughly 163,696 square miles so it is large enough to offer visitors just about any type of landscape they could imagine. (Your rovin’ writer, currently based in California, can see snow-capped mountains, the desert, a teeming metropolis, and a beach all within one day, in fact.)  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here you can find plenty of culture and entertainment in Los Angeles, a city with rolling hills, such as San Francisco, and an odd, arid landscape such as Joshua Tree too. California includes forests, lakes, parks, and vineyards too. Yosemite National Park is one of the best places to experience the state’s natural beauty. There’s also Lake Tahoe, Mount Shasta, Napa Valley, and the Redwood National Forest. Be sure to stop and visit the famous General Sherman Tree in stunning Sequoia National Park, too, and see some of the world’s largest trees!</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Montana</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16106" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/2-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/2-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/2-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/2-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/2-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Also known as Big Sky Country, the state includes 147,040 square miles and is home (in part) to famous Yellowstone National Park. Regular readers know the park is so large it covers property in the states of Wyoming and Idaho too! Beyond its share of this popular park though, Montana has a number of other unspoiled features as well.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Famous for its blue skies, it offers visitors adventure too. Here you can follow the historic Lewis &amp; Clark Trail, and take in the view of the Rocky Mountains and gorgeous Glacier National Park. The latter is known for the Little Bighorn Monument, snow-capped peaks, and the popular Triple Divide Pass, which is home to a variety of wildlife and is highlighted by additional rugged, natural wonders.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Alaska</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16107" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/3-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/3-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/3-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/3-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/3-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/19-awesome-things-to-do-in-alaska/">Alaska</a> may be a bit more difficult to reach, but it offers unique picturesque snowscapes. See such unforgettable ranges as the beautiful Brooks Range. Both the striking Chugach National Forest and Tongass National Forest are memorable no matter what time of the year you choose to visit them.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Indeed, they demonstrate the 49th state’s versatility of beauty. Let’s not forget that if you plan your visit carefully, you also could very well witness the world-famous Aurora Borealis, it’s a wonderful natural light show. As previously reported, Visit from August into May, when the lights are the most visible. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Northern Lights become even more intense between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Other highlights here include the Arctic Circle, the Kenai Fjords National Park, the Alaska Native Heritage Center, Anchorage, and Denali National Park and Preserve. Go whale-watching as well.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hawaii</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16108" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/4-3.jpg" alt="most beautiful" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/4-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/4-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/4-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/4-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/places-to-visit-in-hawaii/">Hawaii</a>, the 50th state, is a group of islands in the Pacific Ocean roughly 2,000 from the mainland. It offers travelers the opportunity to see stunning attractions that cannot be found anywhere else in the country. Hawaii is highlighted by diverse scenery and a surprising variety of both flora and fauna.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">History buffs won’t want to miss Pearl Harbor. Indeed, this lagoon harbor is of significant import and a visit to the USS Arizona Memorial, while somewhat sobering, will provide visitors with an education that anyone can appreciate. Regular readers recall there are many other highlights here as well.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They include such places as Haleakala National Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and the popular Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument. Kilauea, Mauna Kea, and Mauna Loa reportedly draw an impressive number of travelers each year thanks to both their uniqueness and the surrounding landscape around these mountains and volcanoes.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Utah</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16104" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/5-and-feat.jpg" alt="most beautiful" width="883" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/5-and-feat.jpg 883w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/5-and-feat-300x168.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/5-and-feat-768x431.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/5-and-feat-696x390.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/5-and-feat-749x420.jpg 749w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 883px) 100vw, 883px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/25-best-things-to-do-in-utah/">Utah</a> makes the list of most beautiful states for its striking natural beauty and rustic charm. Indeed, there are several examples of this natural beauty including Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and even the rugged Rocky Mountain Basin and its inimitable geological wonders. There’s also the breathtaking Rainbow Bridge. Sources confirm that this is actually the largest natural bridge crossing lovely Lake Powell.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">(It’s also quite Instagrammable!) The Wave is another natural phenomenon of note. It is a striking canyon that includes wave marks along its edges. It spans southern Utah and Northern Arizona.</span></p>

That alone should score it a place on this list of most beautiful states. Located in the popular American Southwest, this state is a stunning mix of assorted elements set in a striking desert.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you are not familiar with desert environments, you might think they are dull and boring. Arizona provides travelers with a unique blend of Indigenous culture, natural rock formations, and Old West towns. There are also great places for exceptional stargazing and a number of picture-perfect locations such as national monuments and canyons. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You don’t name a place “the Sunshine State” if it’s lacking in beauty, and Florida has its share. It comes complete with beautiful white-sand beaches, cobalt waters, welcoming tropical climates, and a bit of Latin charm. The cities here are lively and bright, with plenty to see and do too.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maine has quietly and slowly gained a reputation as a strikingly beautiful vacation destination, especially with nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Veteran visitors can confirm there is a true charm in the state’s untamed wilderness. Maine’s coastline includes rough cliffs and naturally rugged beaches, and thousands of coastal islands to see.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you enjoy spending time in wooded areas, Maine has those too. Be sure to visit Acadia National Park. It is here you will find sandy beaches, towering mountains, dense forests, verdant greenery, multiple hiking trails, and more. Regular readers may readily recall that one of the best times to travel to Maine is in the fall. You can witness a cornucopia of color as the leaves change color. Mind you, there’s always something to see here regardless of when you visit.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Are you a road trip aficionado? If so, then take note. Travel writers report that this state is the “perfect road trip destination.&#8221; Here you will experience the beautiful scenery firsthand.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Don’t forget the famous Blue Ridge Mountains either. In fact, there are other renowned mountains throughout North Carolina’s fringes including the gorgeous Great Smoky Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains. (In fact, your rugged rovin’ writer has hiked portions of all of them and can vouch for their raw beauty!)</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">North Carolina has more than natural beauty though. It also has its own individual combination of aesthetics. Here you will notice a welcome, quirky blend of Bohemian vibes, hip originality, and warm Southern charm. Be sure to include the Outer Banks on your itinerary too. Take in the scenic coastline and the large beaches that are great for both relaxing and exploring.  </span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Vermont</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16117" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/14-1.jpg" alt="" width="847" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/14-1.jpg 847w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/14-1-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/14-1-768x449.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/14-1-696x407.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/14-1-719x420.jpg 719w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 847px) 100vw, 847px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/best-family-vacations-in-vermont/">Vermont</a> may be nigh-famous for its comparatively sparse population, and yet it is reported to be one of the country’s most active states. Here there are a number of natural, wide-open spaces between the towns. The picturesque villages here are nestled amidst clear streams, lovely lakes, and lush rollin’ hills.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unlike some places in the world, this state is one of the best places to experience the natural beauty that has not yet been lost in the downside of what travel writers sometimes call “tourist hotspot marketing.” You can visit any time as those who have been saying Vermont “is gorgeous” all year long. Ah, but in autumn, leaf lovers have the chance to see all the foliage change color as the area is spattered with shades of gold, orange, and scarlet. There are obviously several reasons why vacation homes are quite popular in such places as New England.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tennessee</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This state is partial home to the rugged Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and yet its beauty is all too often unappreciated. Here you can explore lovely landlocked verdant pastures and hills. Tennessee’s Big South Fork offers striking, nigh-jaw-dropping hiking trails, natural bridges, and natural arches as well.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This state is also home to the biggest man-made crystal cave, the most-visited national park, and the nation’s largest underground lake. Additionally, you will find brilliantly sparkling high waterfalls and even some great places for beautiful scenic drives.  </span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wyoming</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16119" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/16-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/16-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/16-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/16-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/16-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wyoming is the “Equality State” and it certainly is at least equal to several of the top 20 most beautiful states in the USA. Mind you, with a total area of 97,914 square miles, many people think of the state and picture picturesque prairies stretching outward in all directions for huge distances. They imagine it sprinkled with quirky small towns with quaint charm and historic architecture too.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The forests here are filled with tall, towering trees and a surprisingly comparatively low number of locals allows more leeway in travel time too. The expansive state’s distinctly diverse landscape allows visitors to view several different types of beauty too. Take in the sight of the majestic mountain ranges mightily rising in the background as they practically beg to be climbed and hiked. Be both inspired and intrigued by such sites as Grand Teton and Devils Tower. Don’t forget world-famous Yellowstone National Park and the nigh-iconic Red Canyon either!  </span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wisconsin</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16120" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/17-1.jpg" alt="" width="805" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/17-1.jpg 805w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/17-1-300x184.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/17-1-768x472.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/17-1-696x428.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/17-1-683x420.jpg 683w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/17-1-356x220.jpg 356w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 805px) 100vw, 805px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ok, we admit it. The state of Wisconsin is not normally renowned for its overall appearance. All the more the pity.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nevertheless, veteran visitors can confirm that you really should give America’s Dairyland a chance. Also known as the Badger State, the state’s geography was forever marked by the Ice Age as well as a number of different natural features that actually blend together to birth not a hodge-podge appearance but rather an enhanced natural wonder. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The state of Wisconsin features over 15,000 lakes and an additional 800 miles of shore around the state’s sections of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. Wisconsin’s attractive array of rural and country scenery also includes stark cliffs, lush forests, rugged stone bridges, various water sources, and the unforgettable Ice Age Trail that goes on for 1,200 miles as well.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">New Mexico</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16121" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/18-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="501" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/18-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/18-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/18-1-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/18-1-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">New Mexico in the Southwestern US may be called the Land of Enchantment, but it is not really considered a big tourist destination. Still, it slots in on the list of the top 20 most beautiful states in the USA. It is one of the “Mountain States” of the well-known southern Rocky Mountains.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">New Mexico is also famous for being one of the Four Corners states. It shares that honor with the states of Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. New Mexico has a total area of 121,591 square miles and some of its scenery has been seen in the hit TV program <a href="https://youtu.be/2wfg6JwrpyA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Breaking Bad”</a>, contrasting its beauty and intrigue with its lesser-known status.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is a great place to include on road trips because it comes complete with an arid desert, magnificent mountains, and winding canyons as well. Be sure to stop to explore the White Sands National Park, which features undulating white sand dunes that some experts say are much more beautiful than other local deserts. For a moment’s peace and relaxation, there is the steamy San Antonio Hot Spring. You should also check out the numerous natural rock formations, and the cave dwellings that reportedly harken back to mankind’s early days.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Virginia</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This striking state is nestled in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the US, between the enormous Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Coast. Spanning an area of 42,774.2 square miles, this state’s picture-perfect hills and sandy beaches are outshined only by its noteworthy vineyards. Both the manmade and natural scenery here is both stunning and terribly underrated.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you especially enjoy going green, be sure to hike or even drive through popular Shenandoah National Park. Enjoy the distinctive flora and fauna. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Located in the Northeastern United States, many refer to it as New York State in order to more easily distinguish it from its biggest city, the Big Apple, <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/top-18-things-to-do-in-nyc/">New York City</a>. The Empire State covers an area of 54,556 square miles and is the 27th-largest state by area in the country. While New York City is a must-see for visitors, do not confuse the state with the major metropolis.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With two mountain ranges and three different coasts, this state easily earns the 20th slot here as one of the most beautiful states in the country. Yes, regular readers already know that New York City has many highlighters and attractions worthy of attention including both parks and architecture. It’s got incredible art, food, and cultural scenes as well. Still, those who wish to enjoy the great outdoors should consider other areas of the state.</span></p>
