Florida features over 8,000 miles of sunny shoreline. It is indeed a prime vacation destination. If you’re headed there and are having difficulty deciding what to do and see, read on fellow travelers. Here to help you plan your itinerary, we now present 20 of the best places to visit in Florida.

1. Sarasota

Here you can explore the Myakka River State Park. It is one of the state’s largest, oldest state parks. Check out the butterflies at the popular Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.
Hit the beach at Lido Beach on Lido Key. Learn a little about the most famous locals at the popular John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art. Stop by the cultural-drenched Ca’ d’Zan as well.

2. Orlando Walt Disney World

Mickey and all his world-famous friends are a big draw for families for sure. Still, there are a lot of things to see and do outside of the Florida theme park. You can get wonderfully up close and personal with numerous animals at Discovery Cove or Gatorland.  Shopaholics can shop ‘til they drop at the area’s outlet malls too. If you left the kids at home then you can go out and experience the exciting and rejuvenated restaurant scene and nightlife as well.

    • Hello!
No, thank you for your kind words! Yes, Florida has some great places to see, doesn’t it?
      Thanks for reading my stuff!

  1. Hey, Florida is awesome if u love scorching temps & 90% humidity ALL the time. If lucky we get a break from the endless HOT HOT never ending summer in Dec., Jan., Feb., & March. Remember, wherever there’s water there’s usually gators. In brackish waters, in mangroves, (Around islands), lakes, rivers, beautiful springs, Canals, in backyardS, Behind my office building in sm. pond, behind the library in bigger pond, in the lovely park that I walk in, in The occasional swimming pool, etc…, they are everywhere. And, In mating season, alligators are aggressive. Watch your pets and children every second and don’t let either near the water. Gators are incredibly fast.

    • Hi!
I live in CA now so I understand this double-edged sword of actually living in a state that many come to only for a visit lol
In my city it is not gators but coyote. between the fires and people continuing to build closer and even into the local mountains the coyotes probably have no choice but to come and visit us. Ah well, the grass is always greener . . . as they say.
THANKS for your comment and for reading my stuff!

      • Hi!
