<p>You think your life is strange? &nbsp; You should see how strange things can get after a storm. &nbsp;A surprisingly high number of beachcombers have reported stumbling across some strange and unbelievable examples of Neptune’s notable neighbors following a tsunami.<br />
Some of these castoff creatures of the deep are so strange even scientists are often initially confused and befuddled by them. &nbsp;Mind you, much like many UFOs, there is generally an explanation for the initially unexplainable,&nbsp; Whether or not you choose to believe it, of course, is another matter entirely. &nbsp;Without further adieu, here are 10 unbelievable creatures found after tsunamis.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><b>Kivalina Strain</b><br /><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="730" height="475" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5506" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/1.png" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/1.png 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/1-300x195.png 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/1-696x453.png 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/1-645x420.png 645w" sizes="(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></h4>
<p>Kivalina is a remote native island village found on the Chukchi Sea in the northwestern area of <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/visit-whittier-alaska-the-town-under-one-roof/">Alaska</a>. &nbsp; You might not consider it as a prime location for an alien invasion and yet that is just what went down on August 3rd, 2011. &nbsp; It was <i>then</i> that the unexpected occurred. &nbsp;<br />
Appearing on the beach for literally miles, the first wave aliens rolled onto the isle. &nbsp; There were billions of them.&nbsp; (No, not little green men from Mars but tiny orange spores.) &nbsp; They were determined to be a type of plant rust.&nbsp; (Uh-oh!&nbsp; Wasn’t the deadly pathogen in <i>The Andromeda Strain</i> a fungal spore?)<br />

<h3><b>Storm Sturgeon</b><img decoding="async" width="720" height="762" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5510" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/2-5.jpg" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/2-5.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/2-5-283x300.jpg 283w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/2-5-696x737.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/2-5-397x420.jpg 397w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></h3>
<p>Beware the “nightmarish Lovecraftian sea monster” some said. &nbsp;Still, others thought that something was just “fishy.”&nbsp; Was it something carried along on the sea breeze or was it what washed up on the shore of <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/10-best-us-road-trips-for-unforgettable-adventures/">South Carolina</a>’s Folly Beach in March 2012?<br />
Whatever this thing really was, it looked like something that had been dragged through the mists of time from the era of the dinosaurs. &nbsp;A local veterinarian determined that the corpse in question was a scute-covered sturgeon.&nbsp; Sturgeons weigh up to 800 pounds and grow to be up to 15 feet in length.<br />
<b><span style="color: #191e23;">(Continued on the next page)</span></b></p>
<h3><b>Montauk Monster</b><img decoding="async" width="730" height="486" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5511" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/3-3.jpg" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/3-3.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/3-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/3-3-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/3-3-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></h3>
<p>One cannot compile a complete list of creatures washed ashore without including the famous Montauk Monster. &nbsp; In July of 2008, the internet exploded with numerous reports of a dead “ferocious-looking carcass” discovered in eastern Long Island,<a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/top-18-things-to-do-in-nyc/"> New York</a>. While it was indeed DOA by the time it had washed up on the well-known Ditch Plains Beach, it lives on even today in the annals of pop culture.&nbsp; In fact, it was immortalized in a memorable albeit disturbing painting by American artist and New York native Dan Lacey.<br />

<h3>Headless Creature<br /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="720" height="540" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5514" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/4-3.jpg" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/4-3.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/4-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/4-3-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/4-3-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/4-3-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/4-3-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></h3>
<p>Basil Park of McIvers told the press: “I’ve lived here all my life and never seen anything like it.” &nbsp; As he stood on the shore of Canada’s Newfoundland’s Bay of Islands he added: “There’s fishermen around here who fished all their lives and they couldn’t tell you.”<br />
Park was speaking of a mysterious headless creature discovered on the beach. &nbsp; It was 15 feet long.&nbsp; 10 of which formed a tapered tail.&nbsp; As this goes to press, Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans have yet to officially announce what it was that was found on the shore back in February of 2010.<br />

<h3>Awful Opah<br /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="720" height="540" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5515" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/5.png" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/5.png 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/5-300x225.png 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/5-80x60.png 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/5-265x198.png 265w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/5-696x522.png 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/5-560x420.png 560w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></h3>
<p>No, not <em>Oprah</em> but &#8220;Opah.&#8221; &nbsp; While they may both often appear to be quite big, the beached beauty in the picture never had a TV talk show. &nbsp;Although this big beached beauty with the somewhat satanic look hails from somewhere not at all that hellish.&nbsp; These creatures are known by many monikers including Kingfish, Moonfish, and even Sunfish.<br />
The truth is that these deep sea dwellers are only rarely seen when experienced anglers and even biologists are actually looking for them. &nbsp; So it was no surprise when one October morning in 2010 someone panicked when they discovered one of these massive fish off the coast of San Diego. &nbsp;Local surfer Scott Williams admitted: [It] “looked like it was from another planet.”&nbsp; The Opah was reported to be about the size of a manhole and weighed 100 pounds.<br />

<h3>Mysterious Blob<br /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="720" height="864" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5517" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/6-5.jpg" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/6-5.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/6-5-250x300.jpg 250w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/6-5-696x835.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/6-5-350x420.jpg 350w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></h3>
<p>Temuka, a small town on the coast of New Zealand&#8217;s South Island, was always a quiet place. &nbsp; At least it was until October 28th, 2009 when the mysterious blob invaded the innocent isle. &nbsp; It was then that resident Rose Fraser discovered the blob on Temuka Beach.<br />
She told the Fairfax NZ News: “I thought: ‘Heck, this is an alien’. &nbsp; She added that it had “big ribs coming out of it” [that] could [have been] tentacles.” &nbsp;Scientists later determined the mysterious blob to be just the top of a sperm whale’s head. &nbsp;(No one knows what happened to the rest of the whale.)<br />

<h3>Purple Storm Snails<br /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="720" height="716" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5518" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/7-3.jpg" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/7-3.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/7-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/7-3-300x298.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/7-3-696x692.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/7-3-422x420.jpg 422w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></h3>
<p>These snails are only found on washed up beaches. &nbsp;Their shells are paper-thin and they create “bubble rafts” of clear chitin in order to stay afloat on the water’s surface. &nbsp;Their name came from the fact that they are blown onto the beach by very strong storm winds.<br />

<h3>Monster From Russia<br /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="720" height="546" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5520" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/8-3.jpg" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/8-3.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/8-3-300x228.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/8-3-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/8-3-696x528.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/8-3-554x420.jpg 554w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></h3>
<p>If <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9AeIdMQqR8">James Bond</a> had discovered this, we might title this section <em>From Russia, With Yuck!</em> &nbsp; On Russia’s island territory of Sakhalin in 2006, a group of Russian soldiers stationed there discovered something monstrous and “seriously decomposed.” &nbsp;Once the story got out about what had happened, the Russian Special Service personnel were quick to remove the washed-up remains from the beach in order to conduct “in-depth studies.&#8221;<br />

<h3>Bigtooth<br /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="720" height="540" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5521" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/9-3.jpg" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/9-3.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/9-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/9-3-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/9-3-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/9-3-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/9-3-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></h3>
<p>No, not Big<em>foot</em>, big<em>tooth</em>. &nbsp; As it turns out, this particular creature would only be dangerous to you if you stubbed your toe on it. &nbsp;Juan Cabana, an artist in Tampa Bay, Florida created and posed this purported toothy sea monster for his “Seamystery” series of aliens, mermaids, monsters, and mythical creatures. &nbsp; He auctioned it off in 2006.&nbsp; Online images come from pictures Cabana featured in the original eBay description.<br />

<h3>The Salish Sea Human Feet Discoveries<br /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="730" height="410" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5523" alt="" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/10-2.jpg" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/10-2.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/10-2-300x168.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/10-2-696x391.jpg 696w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></h3>
<p>It’s a case of “the thrill of victory” and “the agony” of “da feet.” &nbsp;Bad puns aside, it was actually the latter that washed ashore upon the northwestern coast of America and Canada. &nbsp; In fact, as this goes to press the authorities have only solved roughly half the cases.&nbsp; It is theorized that the feet belonged to people who drowned and missing fishermen lost in the 2004 Asian Tsunami since the shoes were not that old.</p>
