1. The Painted Ladies, San Francisco, California

Our first striking stop on our tour of the most colorful places is the bright and cheery homes found on Fr’isco’s pretty “Postcard Row.” This nigh-radiant row of residences was built back in the 1890s by American architect Matthew Kavanaugh. This group of Victorian homes is said to be one of San Francisco’s “most-photographed” places. (Does anyone recognize the place from the TV show “Full House”?)

The Flower Fields, Carlsbad, California

Every year fans of flowers flock to California’s colorful Carlsbad Ranch. For it is here they can see 50 acres of beautiful Ranunculus flowers. These rainbow-like rows are planted every single year. It is a local tradition that goes back to sometime in the 1920s.

The Grand Prismatic Spring, Teton County, Wyoming 

The gorgeous Grand Prismatic Spring is found in famous Yellowstone National Park. It is said to be one of the park’s most popular attractions. This hot spring is highlighted by a rainbow of hues created by the heat-loving bacteria there. This spring is longer than a professional football field and deeper than a 10-story skyscraper. It’s the third-largest on the planet.

Mardi Gras, New Orleans, Louisiana
