<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you&#8217;d love to see several far-flung places in a single trip without going over budget, then read on, fellow traveler. A cruise could quite possibly be just what you need. This, without any further ado, here are 20 tips to help you find cheap cruise deals.</span></p>
<h4><em>20 Tips To Help You Find Cheap Cruise Deals</em></h4>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">1.Stay current on cruise trends</span></h2>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12972 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/1-1.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="747" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/1-1.jpg 747w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/1-1-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/1-1-696x466.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/1-1-627x420.jpg 627w" sizes="(max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Look into the industry. Global Travel Collection representative Marni Becker reports that trends vary depending on “the type of cruise line you are sailing on. She told the press that some cruise lines aren’t “sailing at full inventory yet” and some are actually offering “most cabin categories (except suites) at very low rates.” Cruises on deluxe lines may be in high demand but prices on cruises to places like the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Mexico are a bit more fluid as some lines are trying to entice people to return to cruising.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">2.  Look online for flash sales and price drops</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12973" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2-2.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2-2.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2-2-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2-2-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Check out cruise line sites and such travel booking sites as Cruise Critic, CruiseDirect, Expedia, and GoToSea for flash sales and deals. Watch sites like Cruisewatch and Cruise Fever for up-to-date price drops. Websites like Tripadvisor put together the best deals offered from all the cruise line and travel agency websites.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Flash sales occur closer to your date of departure. That’s when they offer “no frills” prices on any remaining inventory, at low rates minus some of the built-in amenities, and are generally available only for limited sailings.</span></p>

<h3><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/empy.png" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></h3>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">3.  Subscribe to newsletters and updates</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12974 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/3-1.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="752" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/3-1.jpg 752w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/3-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/3-1-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/3-1-632x420.jpg 632w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 752px) 100vw, 752px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sign up for cruise line newsletters and notifications because it’s one of the best ways you can keep current on cruise deals and flash sales. Some cruise lines will even direct-message you. Consider such sites as Cheap Cruises, CruiseComplete, Cruisewatch, Cruise Fever, and Cruises.com. Travel advisors send out updates on cruise deals as well.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">4.  Book with a travel advisor </span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12975 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/4-1.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="890" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/4-1.jpg 890w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/4-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/4-1-768x431.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/4-1-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/4-1-748x420.jpg 748w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you have no time for the internet, book your cruise through a travel advisor. They can simplify the process and save you time and money. They answer questions, help choose the right cruise line, help with tours, and with making any onboard reservations. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They know industry insiders and know about special offers and sales via preferred supplier agreements. Advisors can track pricing too so if the price drops, they can speak to the cruise line and get an adjustment, onboard credit, or a category upgrade.  </span></p>

<h3><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/empy.png" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></h3>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">5.  Book during the wave season</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12976 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/5-2.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="751" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/5-2.jpg 751w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/5-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/5-2-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/5-2-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Book your cruise during the wave season or from the start of the year through the middle of March. However, they note that this year you should book your cruise now because the 2022 sailings are filling up faster than ever due in part to the pandemic. Cruise lines report that they now have “very flexible” cancellation and change policies as well. Additionally, there are now more bonuses like drink packages, gratuities, and shipboard credits than ever.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">6.  Don&#8217;t pay for anything you won&#8217;t use</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12977 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/6-2.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="877" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/6-2.jpg 877w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/6-2-300x171.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/6-2-768x438.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/6-2-696x397.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/6-2-737x420.jpg 737w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 877px) 100vw, 877px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Before you book a larger, more expensive stateroom complete with various bonus amenities, stop and think about it. Will you actually use the extra space and the other extras that come with it? If you think you will probably be spending most of your time outside of your cabin or even off of the ship itself, why not go with a smaller room in what’s called “an entry-level category? Why spend money on an upgraded room with its own balcony when you will probably really not even use it?</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/empy.png" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></h3>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">7.  For the best selection, book early</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12978 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/7b.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/7b.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/7b-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/7b-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/7b-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A great price might not seem like such a bargain if you do not get the specific accommodations or itinerary you want. Thus, if you simply must have a specific cabin preference or departure date, book early. Experts confirm that if you put it off, your choices might be limited.  </span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">8.  Go with a group</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12979 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/8-2.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/8-2.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/8-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/8-2-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/8-2-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Be sure to consider various groups that you belong to prior to booking. Your college alumni association, professional work group, or even a school or community group. Traveling with a group can include not only a lower price, but discounted airfare, or even privileged access tours, like a visit to a famous winery with a master sommelier, special theme cruises, wine tastings, exclusive meals, or lectures by renowned speakers.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/empy.png" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></h3>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">9.  Look for weekend and holiday specials</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12980 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/9-1.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="748" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/9-1.jpg 748w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/9-1-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/9-1-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/9-1-628x420.jpg 628w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 748px) 100vw, 748px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Be sure to watch for special weekend or holiday offers. Several cruise lines offer travelers good deals around holiday weekends like Black Friday, Labor Day, and Memorial Day. Cruise lines may also frequently add additional weekend specials throughout the year. Discuss your interest with your travel advisor and watch the related websites as well.  </span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">10.  Go with an all-inclusive cruise</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12981 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/10-1.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/10-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/10-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/10-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/10-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Travel journalists report that while a base fare on a budget-friendly line initially looks great, your total cost often climbs as you add in such things as beverage packages, excursions, exercise classes, gratuities, stateroom upgrades, and so forth. An all-inclusive cruise might be a better deal. At least one cruise line has an all-inclusive package that includes alternative dining options, wine, beer, and soft drinks at both lunch and dinner, one free excursion in each port, Wi-Fi access, 24-hour bottled water, teas, and specialty coffees, and more.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />
Some cruise lines also include gratuities, nightly events, and shuttle service. Still, others offer special “two-for-one all-inclusive fares” that also include airfare, unlimited on-shore excursions, two- or three-night land programs, and even a one-night, pre-cruise hotel stay.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/empy.png" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></h3>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">11.  Look for airfare packages and other available incentives</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12982 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/11-1.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="851" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/11-1.jpg 851w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/11-1-300x176.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/11-1-768x451.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/11-1-696x409.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/11-1-715x420.jpg 715w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 851px) 100vw, 851px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some cruise lines actually offer special airfare incentives or “two-for-one&#8221; flight bundles. One popular cruise line has a promotional offer that includes a maximum of 30 percent off their cruises, free to-and-from airfare for your traveling partner, and as many as five extra benefits such as free shore excursions, an open bar, or specialty dining. You can check the current offers on the individual cruise lines’ websites, on a good travel aggregator website, or via your travel advisor since special incentives often change.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">12.  Book your next one while on your current one</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12983 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/12-2.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="641" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/12-2.jpg 641w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/12-2-300x236.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/12-2-533x420.jpg 533w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 641px) 100vw, 641px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re on a cruise and decide you want to go on another one, then be sure to take advantage of your cruise line&#8217;s incentives to go ahead and book your next cruise before you disembark. If you book your next cruise before the end of your current one, a number of cruise lines will throw in such perks as onboard credits for your next trip, and even a reduced, refundable deposit on specific stateroom categories. One major cruise line has a program that offers passengers a 50 deposit discount, an early saver rate, an onboard credit, and even a two-category room upgrade depending on the type of cabin you want.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/empy.png" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></h3>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">13.  Look for solo traveler benefits</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12984 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/13-flickr.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="784" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/13-flickr.jpg 784w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/13-flickr-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/13-flickr-768x490.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/13-flickr-696x444.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/13-flickr-659x420.jpg 659w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 784px) 100vw, 784px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The cruise industry considers traveling singles to be an important market. Some cruise lines even reward solo flyers. A lot of cruise lines will add a “single supplement” surcharge to a solo traveler’s room rate, while other cruise lines offer specific cruises where they skip this charge.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They may also offer discounts on deposits to single travelers and even a more flexible booking policy. Some companies even offer small ship cruises that specifically cater to singles. Larger cruise lines promote their single staterooms on certain ships designed just for single travelers. The charges for these cabins can actually be less than what you could pay per person when traveling with a partner. Other potential perks for solo-sailers might also include free access to specific areas where singles can socialize.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">14.  Join a frequent cruiser program</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12985 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/14-1.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/14-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/14-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/14-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/14-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You can earn extra perks when you belong to a company&#8217;s loyalty program. The more you set sail with one company, the more incentives, and benefits you receive. Some cruise lines offer booking discounts of up to 10 percent.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Memberships are generally free and depending on which company you choose you might be automatically enrolled following your first voyage. Discounts could apply to both river and ocean cruises. You may also be invited to onboard cocktail parties. You will also probably be kept up to date on special pricing deals, new ships, and itineraries. With some memberships, the benefits may vary according to level, but they can include discounted laundry service, discounted spa services, free welcoming events, onboard premium offers, and even stateroom upgrades.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">15.  Board an older ship</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12986 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/15-1.jpg" alt="cruise deals" width="779" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/15-1.jpg 779w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/15-1-300x193.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/15-1-768x493.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/15-1-696x447.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/15-1-654x420.jpg 654w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 779px) 100vw, 779px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experts confirm that sailing on an older ship can result in you getting a better deal. It is generally more expensive to take a cruise on new and larger ships. Cruise lines usually update older ships so they often have many of the same features on newer vessels but at a lower price.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">16.  Book a cruise during the school year</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12987 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/16.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/16.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/16-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/16-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/16-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cruise rates are generally based on the specific time of the year. They are higher when travelers are more able to travel. Prices spike, for example, during the winter holidays, summer, and spring break.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sailing in late December can cost you hundreds of dollars more than some time in January. Book your cruise in the off-season, when all the kids are in school. You will save money. Additionally, you will find fewer people at the assorted on-shore eateries, shops, and major tourist attractions as well.</span></p>

<h3><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/empy.png" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></h3>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">17.  Take advantage of various food/beverage packages</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-12988 size-full" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/17-1.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/17-1.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/17-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/17-1-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/17-1-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/17-1-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Do you drink a lot of non-alcoholic beverages such as bottled water, carbonated drinks, coffee, or juice? Do you like to kick back and party with as much beer, wine, and liquor as possible? If you answered “yes” to either (or both) of those questions then you should consider purchasing a beverage.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Various economic beverage packages are offered to suit the specific needs or wants of different passengers. Indeed, some cruise lines even offer special discounts on bottles of wine for those wishing to celebrate special occasions. There are also often special dining packages available.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Still, other cruise lines offer unlimited fixed-price dining options that include assorted eateries and lunches on specific sea days. Others often offer three-restaurant packages and premium cruise packages that include upgraded beverage packages and a night of specialty dining.  </span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">18.  Take shorter cruises</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12989" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/18.jpg" alt="" width="888" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/18.jpg 888w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/18-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/18-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/18-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/18-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 888px) 100vw, 888px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Obviously, you can save money by taking a cruise that is only three, four, or five nights long instead of one that lasts a week or more. Consider a shorter trip to places in the Bahamas, the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman, Mexico, or even Key West, Florida. Cruises out of ports such as Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida often include significant discounts and other benefits such as a free balcony upgrade, and some allow children to sail free of charge. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Additionally, if you have never been on a cruise and you are concerned about your “sea legs”, a shorter cruise could also prevent you from being out on the sea too long, too soon. </span></p>

<h3><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/empy.png" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></h3>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">19.  Use Twitter</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12990" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/19-pxhere.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/19-pxhere.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/19-pxhere-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/19-pxhere-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/19-pxhere-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some frequent cruisers swear by Twitter for finding great deals on cruises. You don’t have to be tech-savvy either&#8211;just know someone who is. Most travel agents, agencies, and even the cruise lines now tweet about their best, last-minute cruise bargains. Twitter even has a list feature to help you. If you have not mastered Twitter, you can still just scroll through all of the Twitter-associated cruise lines’ accounts – or even directly tweet their representatives – to learn about various money-saving deals on upcoming voyages.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">20.  Watch for last-minute deals</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12991" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/20.jpg" alt="" width="890" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/20.jpg 890w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/20-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/20-768x431.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/20-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/20-748x420.jpg 748w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you&#8217;re the kind of person who is always prepared to take off on a last-minute trip&#8211;or you have a couple of months to plan a getaway&#8211;consider buying a “last-minute” cruise package If you are the type of traveler who is flexible in terms of stateroom type, destination, and cruise line, then you will have no problem finding a great cruise that will fit your personal budget. Indeed, travel experts confirm that as the cruise ships restart, there are still good cruise deals to be found within a shorter booking window. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is important to note, however, that inventory out of certain ports could be limited, so more popular shore trips could sell out with specific cruise lines. As this goes to press, there are good deals on cruises to the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/20-most-romantic-destinations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Greece</a> as well.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Do you remember when the biggest attraction on a cruise ship was a swimming pool?  Oh, and not a pool with a cool waterslide, just a simple swimming pool.  Of course, after recent events, cruise <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOYHeKhyYv8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ship lines</a> have had to really step up their game.  As evidence of that, we present the nine craziest attractions on cruise ships.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">1.  Go-Kart Tracks</span></h2>
<figure id="attachment_10030" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-10030" style="width: 750px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-10030" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/1-Norwegian-Cruise-Line.jpg" alt="cruise" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/1-Norwegian-Cruise-Line.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/1-Norwegian-Cruise-Line-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/1-Norwegian-Cruise-Line-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/1-Norwegian-Cruise-Line-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-10030" class="wp-caption-text">Image courtesy of Norwegian Cruise Line</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Seriously, Norwegian Cruise Lines’ three newest ships&#8211;</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Joy&#8211;have real full-blown go-kart tracks.  These tracks take up a great deal of two decks and are over 1,100 feet long. They have four sections that actually extend almost 13 feet over the vessel’s sides.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The go-karts are all electric-powered.  They can reach a speed of up to 32 miles per hour.  On the Norwegian Encore, you and your family and friends can shoot each other’s cars with “laser guns” that will boost your vehicle&#8217;s power.  Your cost is $15.00 to run in an eight-lap race.  1-week, “all-you-can-ride passes” will run you $199.00 per person.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">2.  Roller Coasters</span></h2>
<figure id="attachment_10031" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-10031" style="width: 786px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-10031" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2-Image-courtesy-of-Carnival-Cruise-Line.jpg" alt="" width="786" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2-Image-courtesy-of-Carnival-Cruise-Line.jpg 786w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2-Image-courtesy-of-Carnival-Cruise-Line-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2-Image-courtesy-of-Carnival-Cruise-Line-768x489.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2-Image-courtesy-of-Carnival-Cruise-Line-696x443.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2-Image-courtesy-of-Carnival-Cruise-Line-660x420.jpg 660w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 786px) 100vw, 786px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-10031" class="wp-caption-text">mage courtesy of Carnival Cruise Line</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As this goes to press, the roller coasters have not yet actually debuted on any cruise ships but they’re on their way.  Three ships are currently finishing construction of top-deck roller coasters: Dream Cruises’ Global Dream, and Carnival’s Celebration and Mardi Gras.  Indeed, the Mardi Gras, set to officially debut in February 2021, will be the world’s first ship to have a roller coaster.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Named the BOLT: Ultimate Seas Coaster, it will be 800 feet long.  It will include motorcycle-style cars-for-two and reach a top speed of nearly 40 miles per hour.  It will rise over 180 feet above the water.  Prices have not yet been set for this attraction.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">3.  Bumper Cars</span></h2>
<figure id="attachment_10032" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-10032" style="width: 750px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-10032" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/3-Photo-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/3-Photo-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/3-Photo-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/3-Photo-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/3-Photo-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-10032" class="wp-caption-text">Image courtesy of Royal Caribbean)</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There are presently only four ships that have bumper cars: </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Anthem of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas, Spectrum of the Seas, and Ovation of the Seas.  The people at Royal Caribbean took the on-board basketball court one step further in 2014.  They converted the indoor arena on the then-new Quantum of the Seas into a basketball court and a multipurpose pavilion.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The pavilion, dubbed the SeaPlex, is used for roller skating, bumper cars, and a circus school too.  This entertainment area is two decks high and includes spaces for foosball, ping-pong, and video games too.  The bumper cars seat two and reach a top speed of 5 miles per hour.  They’re free to ride “except on China sailings.”</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">4.  Ice-Skating Rinks</span></h2>
<figure id="attachment_10033" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-10033" style="width: 782px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-10033" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/4-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean.jpg" alt="" width="782" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/4-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean.jpg 782w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/4-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean-300x192.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/4-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean-768x491.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/4-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean-696x445.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/4-courtesy-of-Royal-Caribbean-657x420.jpg 657w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 782px) 100vw, 782px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-10033" class="wp-caption-text">Image courtesy of Royal Caribbean</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Royal Caribbean’s 12 Voyager, Freedom and Oasis-class ships all have ice-skating rinks.  You have to admit it’s an exceptionally interesting concept.  After all, there’s something cool and incongruous about ice-skating in the middle of the ocean on a warm sunny day, right? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The cruise line first began installing interior ice-skating rinks back in 1999.  The rinks also include stadium seating for a maximum of 775 passengers and the rinks use real ice.  Additionally, the ships also cruise professional ice shows and are groomed with actual Zamboni machines.  Skates are provided to passengers and there is no charge to skate.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">5.  Water Coasters</span></h2>
<figure id="attachment_10028" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-10028" style="width: 771px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-10028" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/5-the-disney-blog.jpg" alt="cruise" width="771" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/5-the-disney-blog.jpg 771w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/5-the-disney-blog-300x195.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/5-the-disney-blog-768x498.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/5-the-disney-blog-696x451.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/5-the-disney-blog-648x420.jpg 648w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 771px) 100vw, 771px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-10028" class="wp-caption-text">Image courtesy of The Disney Blog</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Disney unveiled the first water coaster aboard a ship.  Today you will find them on Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, and Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas.  A water coaster is a water slide that employs water  jets to propel passengers in different directions.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Disney’s ships include AquaDuck, a 765-foot-long, two-passenger, family-friendly ride that begins at the rear of each vessel and circles the pools.  Royal Caribbean’s 800-foot-long Blaster is a high-speed, two-person attraction that winds over and around the ship’s rock-climbing wall, basketball court, and FlowRider surf simulator.  Rides are free.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">6.  Laser Tag Arenas</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-10034" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/6-pinterest.png" alt="" width="852" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/6-pinterest.png 852w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/6-pinterest-300x176.png 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/6-pinterest-768x451.png 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/6-pinterest-696x408.png 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/6-pinterest-716x420.png 716w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 852px) 100vw, 852px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you want some </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">shoot-em-up fun while on a cruise you will have to board Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Joy, or Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, or Symphony of the Seas.  Laser tag arenas have become quite popular.  In fact, the Norwegian Encore has the most elaborate and largest laser tag area on any cruise ship.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Royal Caribbean laser tag areas are temporary, pop-up courses set up over the ice-skating rinks.  The attraction is covered under the price of your fare.  On the Norwegian vessels, it’s $10.00 per person for a five-minute laser shoot-out or $199.00 for a week-long pass.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">7.  Skydiving Simulators</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-10035" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/7-pinterest.jpg" alt="" width="704" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/7-pinterest.jpg 704w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/7-pinterest-300x213.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/7-pinterest-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/7-pinterest-696x494.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/7-pinterest-591x420.jpg 591w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 704px) 100vw, 704px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Skydiving simulators are included on Anthem of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas, and Spectrum of the Seas. The RipCord by iFly provides vertical wind machines at the rear of the<a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/most-expensive-cruise-trips-in-2018/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> vessels</a> that provide passengers simulated skydiving back of the ships that give you the sense of 60-second skydiving experiences.  Participants wear a full jumpsuit, helmet, and safety goggles provided by Royal Caribbean.  They’re accompanied by a trained company instructor into this vortex. The first “ride” is free and it’s so family-friendly even three-years-old have experienced it.  </span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">8.  Observation capsules</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-10036" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/8-youtube.jpg" alt="" width="706" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/8-youtube.jpg 706w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/8-youtube-300x212.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/8-youtube-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/8-youtube-696x493.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/8-youtube-593x420.jpg 593w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 706px) 100vw, 706px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The North Star observation capsules are featured on Anthem of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas, and Spectrum of the Seas.  These glass-enclosed capsules rise hundreds of feet above the sea on huge mechanical arms.  Some sources say these capsules provide “the ultimate in middle-of-the-ocean views.”  Up to 14 people, and the operator, can fit at one time.  Rides last between 15 and 20 minutes. The cost is generally included in the fare but one can pay extra to book a capsule for any special shipboard event.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You can only take a SkyRide above the waves on the Carnival Horizon, Carnival Vista, or Carnival Panorama.  These rides suspend you in the sky.  They are essentially one-person vehicles that run on pedal power.  Each attraction takes passengers on set loops around sturdy tracks that are 800 feet in length.   These relatively small recumbent bicycle-reminiscent rides can actually reach a maximum speed of 18 miles per hour.  Mind you, most passengers reportedly plod along at a much slower speed since they want to enjoy the unique view.  There is no additional charge to ride this attraction.</span></p>
