Each of the hikes here can be completed in a single day. Don’t worry about any special equipment since there are no via ferratas.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some of the less lengthy hikes can be hiked together and completed in one day. Unless otherwise noted, hike distances are round trip. The hiking season here in the Dolomites is from the month of June through the month of September, the trails are clear of snow. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">However, by the middle of October, the first snow can already start to fall, thus ending the hiking season. Having noted all that, get ready to take notes. Here are the 15 best day hikes in the Dolomites.</span></p>
<h4><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">15 Best Day Hikes In The Dolomites</span></i></h4>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">1. The Tofana Di Mezzo Hike</span></h2>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17710" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/1-flickr.jpg" alt="" width="751" height="501" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/1-flickr.jpg 751w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/1-flickr-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/1-flickr-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/1-flickr-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tofana di Mezzo is one of the best places to get a view of the Dolomites from the shortest hiking trail. This easy trail is only 0.3 kilometers in length, still, it scales a cliff edge and includes a slippery ascent of 55 meters to the mountain’s peak. In order to reach the hiking trail, you will need to climb staircases that begin at the area’s highest cable car station, Cima Tofana.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You can scramble up the short but steep hill to Tofana di Mezzo from the hiking trail and enjoy incredible 360° views of the impressive Dolomites. Give yourself half an hour. Remember, if you have a fear of heights, you might want to forget this one. </span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">2. The Seceda Hike</span></h2>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17711" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2-4.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="499" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2-4.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2-4-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2-4-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2-4-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Take the local cable car to Seceda, in Val Gardena to complete this 1.3-kilometer loop trail. You simply hike uphill to the viewpoint. The total ascent here is 110 meters.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hike down the trail along the ridgeline towards the peaks. When you arrive at the trail junction, head back to the station. You will need between half an hour to 45 minutes.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">3. The Cinque Torri Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17712" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/3-2.jpg" alt="" width="751" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/3-2.jpg 751w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/3-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/3-2-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/3-2-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Take the convenient, quick chairlift in Cortina d&#8217;Ampezzo to the well-known hiking and rock climbing spot, Cinque Torri. Hike around in this open-air museum complete with bunkers and trenches from WWII. The chairlift and this educational area make it great for kids as it’s an easy, 1.9-kilometer loop with an ascent of 130 meters and everyone learns a bit about history here too.  </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Give yourself an hour for this one. If you have the time and energy, combine this hike with the Rifugio Averau and Rifugio Nuvolau hikes and make a day of it.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">4. The Cadini Di Misurina Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17713" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/4-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="499" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/4-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/4-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/4-3-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/4-3-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is a gorgeous, short, and easy hike not far from the Tre Cime Naturepark and Cortina d&#8217;Ampezzo. It begins at the well-known Rifugio Auronzo and ends at the popular Cadini di Misurina viewpoint. It has a length of 3.2 kilometers.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Along with enjoying the view of the Cadini di Misurina, hiking this trail also allows you to see the beautiful “backside” of Tre Cime di Lavaredo. This trek has a total ascent of 210 meters. You will need between one and two hours to complete it. What’s more? If you enjoy short hikes but don’t like crowds, this is yet another reason to hit the trail here.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">5. The Lago Di Braies Loop Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-17714 alignleft" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/5-1.jpg" alt="dolomites" width="450" height="677" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/5-1.jpg 450w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/5-1-199x300.jpg 199w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/5-1-279x420.jpg 279w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The lovely Lago di Braies is a lake located in Fanes-Sennes-Brais Nature Park, South Tyrol. It is nigh-famous for its majestic mountain backdrop and its clear aquamarine water. Camera bugs and hikers both enjoy this short, easy hike. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This hike has a total ascent of 100 meters. It can be completed in between one and a half and two hours. The loop around the shimmering, aquamarine lake is also considered family-friendly. The distance of the loop is 3.7 kilometers and offers incredible views of the lake from all angles.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">6. The Lagazuoi To Falzarego Pass Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17715" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/6-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="499" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/6-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/6-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/6-3-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/6-3-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This easy hike in Cortina d&#8217;Ampezzo starts with a cable car ride from the historic Falzarego Pass to the Lagazuoi, one of the many mountain peaks here. The view from the upper cable car station is phenomenal. There are a number of hiking trails that run through Lagazuoi.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You hike downhill from the mountain peak to your vehicle which you have hopefully parked at the Falzarego Pass. The distance is a total of four kilometers from point to point. The elevation loss is 650 meters.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Allow yourself between two to three hours to complete this attractive trek. From the trail, you will see Averau, the Cinque Torri, Croda da Lago, Gran Diedro, and Nuvolau. It’s family-friendly too. The best time to go is from June through September.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">7. The Rifugio Averau And Rifugio Nuvolau Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17717" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/7-flickr.jpg" alt="" width="880" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/7-flickr.jpg 880w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/7-flickr-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/7-flickr-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/7-flickr-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/7-flickr-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’d enjoy a hike in Cortina d’Ampezzo that comes complete with a drink or meal with an unforgettable view, this hike is for you! The hike is 4 kilometers long and is rated easy. The total ascent is 335 meters and it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete plus count on some additional time at the rifugios.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The hike starts at Rifugio Averau which reportedly serves some of the best pasta dishes in the Dolomites. From here, you hike past Rifugio Nuvolau which sits atop Mount Nuvolau. Here, at an impressive elevation of 2,575 meters, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the mountain peaks. Hopefully, you’re lucky enough to complete the hike on a clear day. Have lunch on the outdoor terrace, and make a meal a memory! </span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">8. The Piz Boe Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17718" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/8-3.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/8-3.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/8-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/8-3-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/8-3-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/8-3-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This hike in Val Gardena starts at Passo Pordoi. From there you ride the cable car to Sass Pordoi. From there, it is a comparatively short yet nevertheless moderately strenuous hike with a total ascent of 430 meters. Remember, this summit of Piz Boè is the highest peak in the Sella Group. Enjoy the panoramic views from here. They are said to be breathtaking and well worth the effort. Allow yourselves between two and four hours for this noteworthy hike.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The best time to take this hike is always early in the day when there are fewer chances of any crowds. The best time of the year to do it is between the end of June and the end of September. If you wish to avoid any remaining snow, wait until September, for sure!</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">9. The Cinque Torri And The Rifugio Averau And Rifugio Nuvolau Hikes</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17719" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/9-2.jpg" alt="" width="752" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/9-2.jpg 752w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/9-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/9-2-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/9-2-632x420.jpg 632w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 752px) 100vw, 752px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Combine two of arguably the best day hikes here into a slightly long but more epic hiking adventure. This combo hike in Cortina d’Ampezzo is an exceptionally good idea if you only have a single day here in the Dolomites. Despite the fact that you are combining two treks, the total distance is still relatively short at only six kilometers so it’s still workable.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rated easy to moderate, this two-trek hike has a total ascent of 465 meters. Allow yourself between two and a half to three hours to complete this hike and don&#8217;t forget to plan on spending additional time at the popular rifugios. The views are no less than gorgeous, you get a great meal and can enjoy memorable views of the Dolomites.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">10. The Alpe Di Siusi Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17720" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/10-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/10-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/10-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/10-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/10-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Alpe di Siusi in the Dolomites is Europe’s highest alpine meadow. It offers travelers wonderful views and plenty of natural beauty. With cabins, hotels, and rifugios scattered ‘cross the landscape, there are several options in terms of accommodations.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Perhaps the best way to enjoy the area is to take this hike from comfy Compatsch to striking Saltria. The total distance of this adventure is under seven kilometers. This easy, downhill hike includes a 260-meter descent.    </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will need between two and three hours here plus whatever time you wish to spend at the local rifugios. Saltria is the lowest point, and you can take a bus ride back to the starting point at Compatsch and avoid a lengthy, unnecessary hike up again. Need more? The hillsides here are rife with more biking and hiking trails.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">11. The Tre Cime Di Lavaredo Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17721" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/11-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/11-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/11-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/11-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/11-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of the best hikes in the Dolomites is the loop around the triple peaks of Tre Cime di Lavaredo. These peaks are the symbol of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hike is an essential one in the Dolomites and is 8.8 kilometers long with a total ascent of 425 meters. It takes about 2.5 to five hours to complete and is rated as moderate in difficulty. The hike is located near Cortina d’Ampezzo.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is a loop hike that takes you around the trio of huge rock pillars. What’s more, you can only see the nigh-iconic north faces from this specific hiking trail. Visit in the summer and you’ll also enjoy seeing a landscape carpeted with wildflowers. This trail also offers numerous detours to alpine lakes and additional viewpoints.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">12. The Adolf Munkel Weg To Geisler Alm Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17722" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/12-3.jpg" alt="Dolomites" width="750" height="501" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/12-3.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/12-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/12-3-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/12-3-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Adolf Munkel Weg Trail is a point-to-point hiking trail in Val di Funes that runs right along the base of the awesome Odle-Geisler mountain group. The hike is actually almost 10 kilometers with a total ascent of 440 meters and is officially rated as moderate in difficulty. Give yourself between four and six hours for this one so you can take a break at the huts.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To make the trek more manageable, some hikers have shortened it and actually turned it into a loop hike. They start and end the hike from one parking lot. While you will be privy to some incredible views of the mountains and can visit a couple of rifugios, some veteran visitors claim the major drawing point here is just enjoying lunch at a mountain hut.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">13. The Lago Di Sorapis Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17723" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/13-flic.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/13-flic.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/13-flic-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/13-flic-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/13-flic-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/13-flic-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Also known as the Lake Sorapis hike, you will discover the trailhead just a short drive away from Cortina d’Ampezzo. However, if you plan to hike it in the summer, be prepared to deal with crowds. While most hikers go out and back on the popular main trail, you can actually make this a much quieter loop trail hike–Lago di Sorapis and Forcella Marcuoira–if you wish.  </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Thus, depending on your choice, the distance fluctuates between 11.6 to 12.7 kilometers and the total ascent of will be between 460 meters to 775 meters. Thus, the hike can be between moderate and strenuous and require between three to seven hours to complete.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">14. The Lago Federa And Croda Dal Lago Circuit Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17724" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/14-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/14-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/14-1-300x202.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/14-1-696x469.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/14-1-624x420.jpg 624w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Croda da Lago Circuit hike is possibly one of the most underrated and interesting hikes in all of the Dolomites. This loop trail in Cortina d’Ampezzo leads you around the Croda da Lago mountains, has a total distance of 12.8 kilometers and a total ascent of 900 meters. Pencil in between 4.5 and six hours for this moderate to strenuous trek.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The trail takes you through verdant woods and on your way to the alpine lake, Lago Federa, you will also enjoy both panoramic and close-up views of Croda da Lago. This hike is essentially a much less crowded hike that offers stunning views. During the summer months, the Dolomites can be a busy place to visit, but this trail is an exception.   </span></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">15. The Puez-Odle Altopiano Hike</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17725" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/15-fli.jpg" alt="" width="751" height="501" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/15-fli.jpg 751w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/15-fli-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/15-fli-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/15-fli-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This point-to-point hike has a total distance of 17 kilometers along some of the Dolomites’ highest mountain peaks. Your journey begins with a comfy cable car ride that takes you up into the mountains, shaving off a good portion of your climb. This hike in Val Gardena includes a total descent of 1,500 meters and 850 meters of climbing.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Count on spending between six to nine hours on this one. It is rated as strenuous but some say that both the amount of climbing and the length of the trek are “just enough” to make the adventure welcomingly challenging. Additionally, the jaw-dropping panoramic views while you hike in these high peaks are an ample reward for the effort. Some <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/20-best-day-hikes-in-europe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hikers</a> say this is not only one of the best day hikes in the Dolomites but in the entire country. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There is quite a lot to see and experience in America’s national parks. The best way to get up close and personal with these parks is by exploring them on foot. You can hike through the canyons, hike into the verdant forests, hike up to the hidden waterfalls and lakes, and hike to amazing viewpoints where you can see it all via a panoramic view. Here to help those of you who are less athletic or travel with small children, are 20 short hikes in US national parks.</span></p>
<h4><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">20 Short Hikes In US National Parks</span></i></h4>
<h1><span style="font-weight: 400;">1. The Queen’s Garden Navajo Loop Trail, Bryce Canyon National Park</span></h1>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17202" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/1.jpg" alt="short" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/1.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/1-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/1-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/1-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This short Utah hike is rated easy to moderate and is less than three miles. Depending on your level of experience and how long you wish to look around you might want to give yourself between two and three hours for this one. Veterans say it is one of the best ways to take in the canyon. Hiking the Navajo and Queen’s Garden Trails in a single loop, you can enjoy arches, canyons, hoodoos, pine forests, Wall Street, Thor’s Hammer, and Bryce Canyon’s only slot canyon as well.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">2. Inspiration Point, Grand Teton National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17203" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/2-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="499" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/2-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/2-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/2-1-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/2-1-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an essential short hike for any first-time visitor to Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park. This two-mile hike is rated easy to moderate and should take no more than two hours. You take the convenient Jenny Lake boat shuttle across beautiful Jenny Lake to begin this hike to this famous viewpoint.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On the way to Inspiration Point, you can take a little half-mile detour to thundering Hidden Falls. The remaining half-mile to Inspiration Point is steeper. If you have time and feel up to a longer hike, consider hiking onward into rugged Cascade Canyon. Not only are the views here reportedly magnificent, but you also have a pretty good chance of seeing bears or moose.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">3. The Ute Trail to Tombstone Ridge, Rocky Mountain National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17204" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/3-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="497" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/3-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/3-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/3-1-696x461.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/3-1-634x420.jpg 634w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Catch a “Rocky Mountain High” on this short hike in Colorado. Despite being four miles long, this comparatively short hike is actually officially rated as easy. It should take no more than three hours to complete.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This hike provides travelers with exceptional views of the Rocky Mountain National Park and again requires little effort. Here you hike across the alpine tundra and enjoy wonderfully unobstructed views of the Continental Divide, Forest Canyon, and Longs Peak too. What more can you ask for, right?</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">4. The Blue Forest Trail, Petrified Forest National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17205" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/4-1.jpg" alt="short" width="750" height="499" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/4-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/4-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/4-1-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/4-1-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is a three-mile round trip, off-the-beaten-path short hike. It is not currently well-marked so you or your hiking partner should have route-finding skills. It is rated easy to moderate and should only take between one and two hours. The trail will lead you through the Arizona park’s beautiful Blue Mesa area.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you love scenery you will love this little portion of the park. The hills here are highlighted with striking stripes of blues, grays, pinks, and purples. This short trail rises and falls through these unique hills and the views change as you go. Additionally, you will see a surprising amount of the park’s famous petrified wood dotting these hills.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">5. The Hidden Lake Overlook, Glacier National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17646" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/555555.jpg" alt="" width="1000" height="403" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/555555.jpg 1000w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/555555-300x121.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/555555-768x310.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/555555-696x280.jpg 696w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This short hike is one of the Montana park’s most popular treks. It is an easy hike, less than three miles total, and should not require more than two hours. The trailhead is at Logan Pass.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will hike over both gravel trails and boardwalks on your way to Hidden Lake’s awesome overlook. Keep your eyes peeled for mountain goats. This is actually said to be the best place to spot them in the entire park. Enjoy the view from the overlook. If you have more time and energy, consider continuing on for another good mile to the Hidden Lake itself.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">6. Ooh Aah Point, Grand Canyon National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17208" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/6-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="499" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/6-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/6-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/6-1-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/6-1-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Doesn’t a short Arizona hike to Ooh Aah Point sound like fun? While it clocks in at under two miles, it is nevertheless rated strenuous and could take you two hours to finish it. This South Rim viewpoint is a favorite though so it’s worth a little effort.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Besides, you can only get to this viewpoint on foot. The hike is notably steep but the view here is breathtaking. The two best times to hike here are right before sunrise and right before sunset.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Those in the know confess the hike back up to the canyon’s rim is why it is considered difficult. Still, they also agree this is a great short hike to travel below the canyon’s rim. Some travel bloggers also like the South Kaibab Trail compared to the more well-known Bright Angel Trail.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you are unable to plan your hike of the latter in order to avoid other hikers, it is an option. If you are able to hike the entire canyon rim to rim, you will not worry about the perceived difference in views. You’ll see everything.   </span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">7. Balanced Rock, Big Bend National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17210" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-flickr.jpg" alt="" width="751" height="501" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-flickr.jpg 751w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-flickr-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-flickr-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-flickr-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Texas&#8217; 2.2-mile Balanced Rock hike is a comparatively easy hike that requires no more than two hours to complete. One small part of rock scrambling is fun for kids of all ages too. Specifically, it is the last quarter of a mile that is a little challenging and fun.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That’s where you have to do a bit of rock scrambling to get past the big boulders on the trail. Most of this hiking trail though is through a flat, sandy, wide wash. Of course, the main reason for this specific hike is to actually see Balanced Rock. It is one of the park’s most distinctive rock formations. You will find it at the end of the trail. People love to take pictures here too.  </span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">8. Bearfence Mountain, Shenandoah National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17211" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Travel to Virginia and enjoy this short, moderately difficult hike. It should take you only an hour to cover this 1.1 mile-hike. It is brief but includes some fun rock scrambling like the previous hike.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here you scramble up a sheer but short rock wall and several large, jagged boulders to get to the top of the mountain. Indeed, the views from atop Bearfence are spectacular. It is one of the few places in this popular park where you can take in a 360-degree view.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">9. Delicate Arch, Arches National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17212" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-1.jpg" alt="short" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-1.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-1-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-1-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-1-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Utah’s hike to the famous Delicate Arch is three miles in total, moderately difficult, and could take you as long as three hours to complete. Many people travel here as this arch is one of the world’s most famous geologic formations. You can only really get close to it by hiking to it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You hike a gravel path and then complete a strenuous, short climb up slickrock. Here it becomes fun as you hike amidst huge sandstone rock domes. Finally, you hike along a rock ledge along a rock wall.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Just know that caution is paramount here as there is actually a drop-off on one side. Around the last little turn, you can enjoy your first close view of the popular Delicate Arch. Veteran visitors say you should plan on arriving just before sunset since the setting sun reportedly casts the entire arch in a surprisingly warm glow.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">10. The Natural Entrance, Carlsbad Caverns National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17213" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/10-1.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/10-1.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/10-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/10-1-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/10-1-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/10-1-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of the best experiences in New Mexico is arguably entering Carlsbad Caverns via the Natural Entrance. All you need to do is complete this easy 1.2-mile hike. If you take your time it should still only take an hour.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The trail is not only well-maintained, but it is also paved and winds right down into the Caverns’ mouth. Allow your eyes a moment as they adjust to low lighting as your journey beneath the earth continues. Take in the sight of the distinctive dripstones and other rocky formations. When you reach the Big Room, you can continue on another mile or so through the country’s largest cave chamber then take the elevator to the surface.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">11. The Canyon Overlook Trail, Zion National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17214" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-wiki.jpg" alt="" width="777" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-wiki.jpg 777w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-wiki-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-wiki-768x489.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-wiki-696x443.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-wiki-659x420.jpg 659w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 777px) 100vw, 777px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here is another short hike in Utah. It’s an easy one-mile walk that shouldn’t require more than one hour. Not only is it fun for all ability levels and ages, but it also takes you to an incredible viewpoint overlooking the famous canyon. Travel writers claim it will even keep your kids entertained for the whole hike as you will hike along rugged cliffs, through a real cave, and over huge tree roots and rocks as well.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">12. The Skyline Trail to Panoramic Point, Mount Rainier National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17215" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Venture to Washington State for two to three hours and complete this short albeit strenuous four-mile hike. The popular Skyline Trail is one of the park’s best hikes. It’s a notably strenuous loop hike that is more than six miles in length. You can cut off a couple of miles by stopping at Panoramic Point.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That way, if you don’t feel up to a challenging, lengthy hike you can still enjoy magnificent views. Your adventurous short hike begins at the Paradise Visitor Center. From there you hike uphill to popular Panoramic Point. Remember though that even if you visit in summer, the trail still might be layered with snow.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">13. Rialto Beach to Hole in the Wall, Olympic National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17216" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/13-1.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/13-1.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/13-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/13-1-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/13-1-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/13-1-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This easy four-mile hike is little more than a stroll on a Washington State beach. It shouldn’t take more than two hours. The hike begins at the official Rialto Beach parking lot. It ends near the huge sea stacks.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As you go, you’ll see large piles of driftwood and little tidepools. Check out the ocean along your way and you might see sea lions, otters, and whales there. Once you are at the well-known Hole in the Wall, you might want to explore the coastline too. Summer is fine for this hike but know that if you go too early in the morning the beach may very well be fog covered.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">14. The Beehive Trail, Acadia National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17217" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/14.jpg" alt="short" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/14.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/14-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/14-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/14-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/14-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This strenuous, 1.4-mile hike is one of the most exciting hikes in this park in Maine. It could take you up to three hours to finish it despite its short distance. It is a thrilling, exhilarating climb complete with metal rungs, cliff walks, and an incredible, panoramic view of Mt. Desert Island.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You should note, however, that this short hike also is not for anyone afraid of heights. This hike includes a significant amount of exposure with ladder climbs and notably narrow cliff trails too. This is also not a child-friendly hike either.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">15. The White Rim Overlook, Canyonlands National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17218" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/15-1.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="499" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/15-1.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/15-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/15-1-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/15-1-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here’s another noteworthy short hike in Utah. It’s easy and less than two miles. It might take you an hour for this one.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In fact, not only is it easy, but it also provides hikers with some of the very best views in this park. Indeed, veteran visitors can confirm that the views from Buck Canyon overlook and Grand View Point are amazing. More importantly, though, the White Rim Overlook takes these views and joins them into one incredible viewpoint. Since you have to actually hike to get to this point, you will run into a lot less people than at the other two places.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">16. Dream and Emerald Lakes, Rocky Mountain National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17219" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/16-flickr.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="501" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/16-flickr.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/16-flickr-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/16-flickr-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/16-flickr-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s back to Colorado for another popular, short hike in this famous park. It is rated easy to moderate, has a distance of under four miles, and requires no more than three hours to complete. It’s suitable for almost all ages and ability levels as well.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is highlighted by beautiful scenery and a trio of lovely lakes including Dream Lake, Emerald Lake, and Nymph Lake. Not only can it serve as a noteworthy introduction to this specific national park, but if you’re feeling energetic and have more time, you can also expand this hike to include Lake Haiyaha and Bear Lake too.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">17. Moro Rock, Sequoia National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17220" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/17-1.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/17-1.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/17-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/17-1-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/17-1-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/17-1-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wait! Have we not mentioned California yet? Have no fear! This Golden State hike is noteworthy for a number of different reasons.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With a distance of only 0.6 miles, it is the shortest short hike on this list. It should take no more than half an hour. It is still rated moderately difficult because in order to actually reach the top of Moro Rock, you will have to climb a total of 400 steps. Ah, but the view from the rugged summit of this natural granite dome is nothing less than fabulous. Here you can not only look out over striking Sequoia National Park but also the nearby Kings Canyon National Park.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">18. The Notch Trail, Badlands National Park</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17649" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/The-Notch-Trail-Badlands-National-Park.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="890" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/The-Notch-Trail-Badlands-National-Park.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/The-Notch-Trail-Badlands-National-Park-259x300.jpg 259w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/The-Notch-Trail-Badlands-National-Park-696x807.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/The-Notch-Trail-Badlands-National-Park-362x420.jpg 362w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Let’s not ignore the state of South Dakota either. For it is here that you can discover the popular Notch Trail. This is an easy short hike but is quite fun. With a total distance of just one and a half miles round-trip, this family-friendly hike can provide an hour of adventure for adults and children alike.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">(Come on, just the name “Badlands” makes it sound kind of exciting, doesn’t it? Well, at least that’s what your rovin’ writer thought when he was here as a kid anyway.) On this brief trek, you will stroll through a striking scenic canyon, climb all the way up a wooden ladder, briefly hike along a sheer cliff trail, and arrive at your desired destination to discover the amazing, iconic scenery of the famous Badlands.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">19. Cassidy Arch, Capitol Reef National Park</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Next on our list, we return to Utah. For it is here that hikers can enjoy a short and classic hike to nigh-world-famous Cassidy Arch. You only need between two and three hours to complete this moderate, 3.4-mile hike.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some experienced hikers say this is one of the park’s “most thrilling” hiking trails. This short hike is accessible from the well-traveled Scenic Drive. Not only will you eventually be able to actually stand right on famous Cassidy Arch but will take in views of the great Grand Wash and other noteworthy scenery as well. In fact, you can not only see the iconic arch from a distance but also walk right across it and take advantage of one of the park’s most unique and popular photo ops as well.</span></p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">20. Golden Canyon and Gower Gulch Loop, Death Valley National Park</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit Landmannalaugar, one of Iceland’s top hiking destinations, and take this 9.7-kilometer loop hike. It is rated strenuous and has an ascending gain of 610 meters. You will need between four and six hours.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While there are a number of different day hikes to do here, this loop hike actually combines two hikes into one noteworthy day hike. See the colorful rhyolite mountains, the warm, welcoming geothermal hot springs, the popular lava fields, and, of course, the distinctive hiking trails. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Adventurous travelers are drawn to this place all summer long. You begin at Blue Peak or Mt. Blahnúkúr. In the end, you are able to see some of the very best views of local Landmannalaugar.   </span></p>

<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17181" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/5.jpg" alt="" width="922" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/5.jpg 922w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/5-300x161.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/5-768x412.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/5-696x374.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/5-782x420.jpg 782w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 922px) 100vw, 922px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of Croatia’s most unique places to see is Plitvice Lakes. Here you will find suspended boardwalks over aqua-blue water, easy walking trails, photogenic waterfalls, and memorable viewpoints. It is a family-friendly place.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Thus, the length of this hike is between eight and 11 kilometers depending on your choices. Your choices also determine if this is an easy or moderate-rated hike. You will need between four and eight hours for this one.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While there is a network of numerous connected hiking trails and boardwalks here, there are also boats and shuttle buses, so, again you have options. In fact, there are also several different programs available here that focus on energy level, starting points, and available time.  </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Travel to the lovely Lofoten Islands. Here you can enjoy an out-and-back hike that some say is perfect. It is just under 9 kilometers in total and is rated easy to moderate.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The total ascent is 680 meters and you should plan on it taking three to five hours. In that time you will be privy to pretty views of fjords and mountains and a pristine white beach as you hike to a truly majestic mountain peak. Veteran visitors say that the icing on this cake is what is known as a “mini Trolltunga,” or a rugged rock outcropping that is Instagram-ready. Other hikers suggest that your real motivation to complete this hike is to take in the stunning view from atop of Ryten.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">7. Climb The Ladder of Kotor, Montenegro</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17183" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7.jpg" alt="" width="881" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7.jpg 881w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/7-748x420.jpg 748w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 881px) 100vw, 881px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hiking the Ladder of Kotor provides incredible views of the beautiful Bay of Kotor. Ah, but be aware that this is an almost 13-kilometer hike in total and it is rated as strenuous. You will need between three and six hours.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The trailhead is right next to the popular Old Town of Kotor and immediately becomes an uphill climb. There are more than 70 switchbacks but experienced hikers suggest not counting them. Best to focus on the fact that the higher you hike, the more striking the view. Once you reach the top, you can go back the way you came or hike the Kotor castle walls back to the bottom.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">8. Hike Schynige Platte to Faulhorn to First, Switzerland</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17184" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8.jpg" alt="day" width="924" height="495" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8.jpg 924w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-300x161.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-768x411.jpg 768w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-696x373.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/8-784x420.jpg 784w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 924px) 100vw, 924px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will need to visit the Jungfrau Region to complete this beautiful 16-kilometer point-to-point hike. Mind you, while some hikers and travel writers consider this a favorite trek to take, it is rated as strenuous, has an ascent of 860 meters, and has a descent of 690 meters. Give yourself a good six hours to complete this worthy challenge.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Start this big hike with a scenic ride up into the massive mountains on a comfy cogwheel train. Once you disembark, you will be hiking by alpine lakes, belled cows, snow-dusted trails, rugged mountain huts, and enjoying some of the best views of the famous Swiss Alps you could ever see. It’s one of the best longer day hikes here.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">9. Hike Montserrat, Spain</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17185" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/9-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For those not in the know, Montserrat is a rugged mountain range located in Catalonia. In fact, the word “Montserrat” is roughly “saw mountain” in Catalan. It is thus named because the range has a sawtooth-like appearance.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This day hike is a point-to-point hike with a distance of five kilometers. It is moderately difficult and requires less than two hours to complete. If you’re staying in Barcelona, you can take a train to the area and then either take another train into the mountains, ride a cable car, or hike up on foot.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re feeling athletic enough, hike to the monastery. The hike there is relatively short and quite memorable. Feeling even more energetic? Hike to Sant Jeroni or the Santa Cova Chapel too!</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">10. The Måtind &amp; the Stave-Bleik Coastal Trail, Norway</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit Northern Norway’s unique Vesteralen Islands, not far away from the well-known Lofoten Islands. Here you can enjoy one of Europe’s most underrated hikes. The Stave-Bleik Coastal Trail follows the coastline. The hike is an almost eight-kilometer out-and-back hike that’s rated easy to moderate.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It includes an ascent of 520 meters that will take between three and four hours to complete. Too many travel lovers pay little attention to Senja and the Vesteralen Islands and spend all their time in the popular Lofoten Islands. The Vesteralen Islands are more peaceful, significantly less touristy, and come complete with their own lovely, lush landscapes. Måtind is actually the highest spot along the coast and thus offers the best views there.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">11. Hike Cinque Terre, Italy</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17187" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11.jpg 750w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/11-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Just north of Pisa, on Italy&#8217;s coastline, is a group of five individual pastel-colored towns known as The Cinque Terre. Each town overlooking the harbor offers visitors its own something special. Hiking this 11-kilometer trail, a.k.a. The Blue Trail is a great way to explore this place.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some portions are paved, some unpaved, and some require climbing up and over natural terrain. So the hike is rated easy to moderate. It connects Riomaggiore to Monterosso al Mare and requires more than five hours to finish and additional time to explore a little. This is one hike where you refuel along the way with pizza, gelato, and wine. Why stroll around all five towns?</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">12. Hike To The Green Lake &amp; Vel’ká Svišt’ovka, Slovakia</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17188" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12.jpg" alt="" width="673" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12.jpg 673w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Slovakia’s High Tatras is another noteworthy European hiking destination. More specifically, this day hike to the summit of the famous Vel’ká Svišt’ovka is a 13+ kilometer point-to-point hike. It is a moderately difficult hike with an ascent of 365 meters and a descent of 1,200 meters and requires from six to eight hours to finish.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This terrific trek features emerald-green lakes, jagged mountains, and even a cable car. Taking the cable car eliminates the initial major ascent. Still, the downhill section is difficult and requires chains. Plus, it is also a long walk through the pine forest on a rocky, rough, uneven trail to get back to town.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">13. The Hveradalir Geothermal Area Hike, Iceland</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Head to the Kerlingarfjöll mountain range in the central highlands. For it is here you will enjoy a memorable 11.5-kilometer out-and-back hike. It is reported to be moderately difficult and requires four if not five hours.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here you will discover the hot spot known as Hveradalir. It is a geothermal natural wonderland of boiling mud pools, rainbow-tinted hot springs, rust-colored mountains, and steam vents. If you happen to be staying at the renowned Kerlingarfjöll Mountain Resort, you can actually either hike or drive to the exceptional Hveradalir Geothermal Area. Of course, hiking out and back gives you the chance to see the multiple changes in terrain up close.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">14. The Mürren Via Ferrata Hike, Switzerland</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While you’re in the Jungfrau Region to hike that other previously recommended hiking trail, you might as well try this day hike too! It is over 2 kilometers one way, moderately difficult, and has an elevation loss of 300 meters. This is a three-hour hike.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is one of the shortest hikes in Europe but it is also one of the most exciting on the continent. Those in the know say this hike is actually “part hiking trail” and “part via ferrata.” (A via ferrata is a protected climbing route.) Here you will hike, climb down notably steep ladders, cling to a rugged cliff, cross a suspension bridge, and zip line across a deep ravine. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Greek island of Santorini is popular for many reasons. If you’re a hiker, hiking from Fira to Oia is yet another reason to visit here. It’s a 10-kilometer point-to-point moderately difficult hike that will require between three to five hours.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On this popular day hike, you will trek along a caldera’s rim, visit the little towns of Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigili, and Oia, and take in some of the best views here. The trail you’ll travel is a mix of dirt hiking trails and paved, pedestrian roads. You can hike it from either end, but if you go from Fira to Oia it’s mainly a downhill hike and you can see the town’s nigh-legendary sunset.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Travel to the Norwegian archipelago named Svalbard. Located in the Arctic Ocean, it is here you will complete a strenuous adventure including over five kilometers of kayaking and almost nine kilometers of hiking. Set aside a good 11 hours for this athletic event in this remote location.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It all begins in Svalbard’s largest settlement known as Longyearbyen. Here reindeer wander around town, there are more snowmobiles than residents, and the streets have no name. From here you kayak ‘cross Adventfjord and hike to the very summit of rugged Hiorthfjellet. If you want to avoid snow, best visit before the end of June.</span></p>

This is one of those spectacular treks that requires little effort. Enjoy truly epic views of the world-famous Matterhorn as you go, provided the weather is nice.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Your journey begins in Gornergrat where you will find Europe&#8217;s highest open-air railway. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This day hike is in Zakopane. Zakopane is actually the country’s gateway into the popular Tatras. It is a strenuous 18 kilometer loop hike with an ascent of 1,310 meters.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Give yourself between eight to 10 hours for this challenging hike to Koscielec. It is undoubtedly one of the most difficult day hikes on this list. The trail comes complete with alpine buildings, crystal-clear lakes, and fields of pretty wildflowers. This is one of those hikes where your great effort is rewarded with incredible panoramic views.</span></p>

<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17195" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/19.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="505" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/19.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/19-300x208.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/19-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/19-696x481.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/19-607x420.jpg 607w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/19-100x70.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This day hike is also considered challenging. Set aside eight to 10 hours for this 25-kilometer point-to-point hike. Possibly the hardest hike here, it includes a total ascent of 1,400 meters. This extraordinary hike also includes 26 waterfalls, three distinctive landscapes, a pair of glaciers, and even a volcano.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It all begins at the Skógafoss Waterfall. From there you hike along the Skógá River. Once you near the ice caps, the lush green grass disappears. Nothing remains but a barren landscape as you hike between the glaciers across black volcanic soil until you descend into Thórsmörk’s forest and arrive in Básar.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">20. The Trolltunga Hike, Norway</span></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-17196" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/20.jpg" alt="" width="751" height="500" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/20.jpg 751w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/20-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/20-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/20-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Last but not least on this list of best day hikes, is this strenuous 28-kilometer out-and-back hike that has a total ascent of 800 meters. To be honest, this requires between 10 and 12 hours so it could be a rather long day hike. Nevertheless, this is one of the most popular treks in Europe.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While it is beautiful from beginning to end, the whole point of this hike is to actually stand on the famous Troll’s Tongue, a comparatively thin bit of rock that offers ambitious travelers one of the most incredible photo ops on the continent. If you would rather shorten this hike, you can now take a car to reach one spot that cuts out the first significant climb.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There you have it, fellow travelers.  These are the 20 best day hikes in Europe.  What are your favorite day <a href="https://addtobucketlist.com/11-most-dangerous-hikes-in-the-u-s/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hikes</a>?  Did we mention them here?  Let us know in the comments section.</span></p>

<p>Do you enjoy hiking? Are you looking for the perfect hike? If you’re looking for a hike with awe-inspiring views and looks great in photographs too then read on, dear traveler. Here is a list of the best hikes on the planet that take a day or less.</p>
<h4>10. Kings Canyon Rim Walk, Australia</h4>
<p>Distance: Six Kilometers (3.72+ miles)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Between two to four hours<br />
Taking this hike exceeds the expectations of many hikers. It is perhaps the most favored and famous hike in the Northern Territory. The main draw of traveling to this part of Australia is Uluru. Typical tourists with little interest in exercise have no clue that they can take an exceptional hike at a place that is only a few hours drive away. Veteran visitors confirm that this is the best place to hike in Australia when it comes to both fun and scenery.</p>

<h3>9. Angels Landing, USA</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5950" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-8.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="488" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-8.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-8-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-8-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9-8-628x420.jpg 628w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Distance: Nine Kilometers (5.59+ miles)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Between three to five hours<br />
Also known as the Temple of Aeolus, this rock formation is located in Zion National Park in the southwestern part of the state of Utah. This 1,488-foot tall rock formation is visited by thrill-seekers from across the globe. This exhilarating hike includes dizzying heights, magnificent views, and scrambling areas that are chain-assisted. Furthermore, the last half-mile of the hike to the top is on a very narrow rock edge with 1000 foot drop-offs on both sides.</p>

<h3>8. Tongariro Alpine Crossing, New Zealand</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5951" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/8-6.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="365" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/8-6.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/8-6-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/8-6-696x348.jpg 696w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /><br />
Distance: 19.4 kilometers (12.5+ miles)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Between six to eight hours<br />
Some hikers call this the best day hike in the country. Others say it’s the best day hike on the planet. The unique volcanic terrain here at Tongariro on New Zealand’s North Island is a sharp contrast to the green scenery prevalent here.<br />
Here you can hike through a lunar-like landscape in the very shadow of famous Mt. Doom. See the semi-dormant smoking volcanoes in the distance. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is beautiful and ever-changing.</p>

<h3>7. Puez-Odle Altopiano, Italy</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5952" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-7.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="447" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-7.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-7-300x184.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-7-696x426.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/7-7-686x420.jpg 686w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Distance: 20 kilometers (12.42+ miles)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Between six to eight hours<br />
Hiking the Puez-Odle Altopiano in the Dolomites is a favorite of a number of international hikers. Even exceptional photographs of this area simply do not do it justice. Multiples trails are available and they can be challenging but are said to be well worth the effort. The 360° view from the mountain range’s highest peaks is amazing.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>6. Jiankou to Mutianyu, China</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5953" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-8.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="487" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-8.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-8-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-8-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/6-8-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Distance: 10 kilometers (6.21+)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Four to five hours<br />
Hiking from Jiankou to Mutianyu on the iconic Great Wall of China can be an exceptional experience. You will be able to see sections of the famous wall that are in disrepair and newer, restored sections too. You must climb an old wooden ladder to get onto the Great Wall and there are large holes and areas that are literally falling down along the side of the mountain. Take a break and see China from one of the watchtowers. You are literally hiking across history.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>5. The Zion Narrows, USA</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5955" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-8.jpg" alt="" width="720" height="573" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-8.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-8-300x239.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-8-696x554.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/5-8-528x420.jpg 528w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /><br />
Distance: Two to 12 miles (19.31+ kilometers) hiking from the bottom up or 16 miles (25.74+ kilometers)hiking from the top down<br />
Estimated Time Required: 13 hours or less depending on the route<br />
The Zion Narrows is a nigh perfect slot canyon hiking location in Utah’s Zion National Park. There are two routes from which to choose. The favorite route is from the bottom to the top because you don’t need a permit. If you’re a hardcore hiker, hike the entire Narrows from the top down.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>4. Half Dome, USA</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5956" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-7.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="459" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-7.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-7-300x189.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-7-696x438.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/4-7-668x420.jpg 668w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Distance: 17 miles (27.35+ kilometers)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Between 10 to 14 hours<br />
The hike to the Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in California is praised for numerous reasons. Standing atop of the famous Half Dome and peering out over the entire park is honestly breathtaking. In order to even get there, you have to climb the cables there. The experience of working your way up the steep granite is an adventure in itself. In fact, it requires a permit. It is both amazing and challenging to complete this hike.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>3. Trolltunga, Norway</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5957" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-7.jpg" alt="" width="730" height="486" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-7.jpg 730w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-7-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-7-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3-7-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></p>
<p>Distance: 23 kilometers (14.29+ miles)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Between eight and 10 hours<br />
International hikers say this hiking destination is quickly becoming more popular. Many travel websites are discovering the beauty of Trolltunga and the scenic background it provides for world hikers. This little bit of rock is fast becoming an Instagram star (among the more athletic anyway).<br />
This spot in Norway might be a bit off the beaten path but those who truly enjoy hiking note that it is “an epic hike” well worth the time and effort required.</p>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>2. The Inca Trail, Peru</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5958" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-7.jpg" alt="" width="720" height="540" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-7.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-7-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-7-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-7-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-7-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/2-7-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>Distance: 15 kilometers (9.32+ miles)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Four to five hours plus any travel time<br />
Some additional travel may be required but hiking through the Andes is your best bet if you can work out the details. The day hike to Machu Picchu is for hikers who are unable to schedule a time for the popular four-day hike. Hardcore enthusiasts criticize it but this one-day outing gives you the opportunity to take on the last length of the Inca Trail. Take in the Sun Gate.</p>
<h4><em>And the winner is . . .</em></h4>
<p><strong>(Continued on next page)</strong></p>
<h3>1. Kjeragbolten, Norway</h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5948" src="https://addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/1-9.jpg" alt="" width="720" height="720" srcset="https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/1-9.jpg 720w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/1-9-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/1-9-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/1-9-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.addtobucketlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/1-9-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>Distance: 12 kilometers (7.45+ miles)<br />
Estimated Time Required: Six to eight hours<br />
The hike to Kjeragbolten is both popular and famous. Those making the trip to this huge boulder that is wedged between two cliffs are never disappointed. Some enjoy climbing the sheer granite rock faces via chains.<br />
Others enjoy dropping down into sheep-filled valleys. Some enjoy all the memorable scenery. Others just plain enjoy the fun in working up the nerve to step out onto the world-famous boulder wedged 1000 meters (3280+ feet) above the ground for a great Instagram photo.</p>
